I think the original post referred to carry-on luggage.

I've never noticed kids on the plane. But then again, one Dramamine, my iPod, and a pillow and you couldn't bother me 'til no matter how hard you tried.

[wake me up for the 12oz Coke and the peanuts, tho...]

What I notice about families who sit on different rows always ask to sit next to each other and to sit closest to the front of the plane... they are a bit shocked when they are moved to the back... and yes, that meant me getting kicked to the back...

back in the day parents use to care about their children more than their own wants, but not in today's world

with almost a majority of marriages resulting in divorce, it is clear it's every man and woman for themselves, and f*** the collateral damage

also in our world, where one can be texting on a cell phone or chatting on the internet to the people they want to be in contact with at that moment, f*** anyone else physically around them, no time for small talk, or enjoying the kids company or having conversations with other passengers

When I fly with my kids, I prefer to sit in back.. but I want my kids to sit near the front. !

That does remind me of a recent flight my family took from DC to ATL. It was late and my wife ran into an old friend at the airport. Upon boarding my wife swapped seats with her friends daughter so she could sit in the back and chat with her friend while i had all the kids (4) near the front. But I didn't hear them much after I fell asleep!

After you fell asleep? I think that was wise but it was one of the things on the OP that I remember.

I was kidding, I did not fall asleep but wouldn't you know that two of the kids, sitting in the row behind me fell asleep 5 minutes before landing..
