I wouldn't give any foreign aid to any oppressive governments or societies.

But then again, I don't have major oil or foreign business interests in those areas, so I'm able to think a bit more clear cut on these issues than our politicians.

This is over-the-top - even for Rick Perry. Just terrible. He says equal rights for gays are a "war on traditional American values".

Maybe he'll get the endorsement of the John Birch Society, but will there be anybody else?
It should not matter to our government why innocent people are being brutally abused or murdered, either way, it's wrong. But once again, this president is picking out the winners and losers. So, if you are gay, you are America's priority, and deserve extraordinary protective measures.

Perry is wrong to say 0bama should not seek to protect people based on whether or not many Americans view their lifestyle "deeply objectionable".

0bama's comeback is just as wrong:

“I am deeply concerned by the violence and discrimination targeting LGBT persons around the world, whether it is passing laws that criminalize LGBT status, beating citizens simply for joining peaceful LGBT pride celebrations, or killing men, women, and children for their perceived sexual orientation,” Obama said in the memo.

So is America going to charge around the world, as a caped crusader of gays, and if the abused and murdered are not gay, our brave leader will say "citizen of the world, I feel your pain, but I'm only concerned with protecting gays". What message is that to the world, that our empathy and compassion for human rights is based on a gay litmus test?

NO GROUP should be put OVER another

gays are humans too...not SPECIAL humans..they deserve NO SPECIAL treatment over others
You say no group should be put over another, yet heterosexuals get over 1000 special rights when they get married in a federal civil union. They are a group that is put over the LGBTQ people. It is them that get special rights that are denied gays. It is the straight people that are getting special treatment. We do not want special rights, we want the exact same rights you get for an $85 marriage license from the US government, not from a church or synagogue. A marriage license is a government document, it is secular, not theocratic. Keep you so called special church weddings, give us the same exact opportunity to marry the one we love, not the ones you give us permission to marry. You are allowed to marry the one you love, we are told to find someone of the opposite sex to lie to and to marry in a bogus marriage, just to make you happy. Try fixing your almost 60% divorce rate before you start telling others who they can marry.

The pro gay provocateurs continually demand explanations from those of us who don’t want marriage changed. Despite getting every answer and then some these wonderful darlings refuse to acknowledge our position yet they require that we not only acknowledge their position but that we must accept it as well. It goes both ways folks and just because people don't want marriage changed we aren't the bogey men you would like for us to be and the provocateurs aren't the "superior" either!

Uh, I was responding to "So we should cut off aid to all muslim countries?" which you wrote.

Did you forget the meaning of all or would you have us believe oil does not flow from any Muslim countries?

Here we go again. Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1 (1967)

You were wrong before Loving, you are wrong now.

That doesn't preclude it from also being a right. Sheesh.

Wrong. 100% wrong. Embarrassingly, amusingly, sadly wrong.

So, because we are a minute minority means you can treat us less, give us less? No where does it ever say that minorities rights are trumped by the majority. Do you not understand that you could be the next minority with your rights up to the decision of the majority? I refuse to accept fewer rights then that of my fellow citizens just because I am gay. It is not as if I can just become straight. My rights are just as important as anyone elses and should not be up for denial based on a bible. That is tyranny of the majority and it that continues to exist, everyones rights are up on the chopping block. Everybody's rights are important, not just yours.
