I am just a middle class peon and i would gladly pay another $100.00 or so in taxes to help get my country get in better shape. A $100.00 out of anyone's budget here on CD wouldn't hurt you a bit(those without jobs excepted). Some of these SILVER SPOON WHINERS just appall me!

Go back to 2000 tax levels. Get rid of the carried interest loophole for hedgefund managers. If it is not YOUR money in the game it is not YOUR carried interest.

No, this is a massive oversimplification.
What do they spend? They spend money on social security and medicare, sure. But 70% of Americans support that spending, and in fact are in favor of tax increases to keep them solvent in poll after poll. Of course they want cuts in spending first.
Where do a majority of Americans think that most of the cuts needed should come from?
(Reuters) - A majority of Americans prefer cutting defense spending to reduce the federal deficit rather than taking money from public retirement and health programs, a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday showed.
The poll found 51 percent of Americans support reducing defense spending, and only 28 percent want to cut Medicare and Medicaid health programs for the elderly and poor. A mere 18 percent back cuts in the Social Security retirement program.
