How generous, considering each person owes $52,400.

There is nothing stopping you from writing that check. There is, thankfully, something stopping you from stealing hard earned money from other citizens in the name of "fairness" for redistribution.

For most Americans, if they have an investment, its their house. And as I said, thats IF they have a house.

Exactly.

When they make an honest effort to consistently combat waste and fraud, when they have a serious plan to put entitlements on proper fiscal footing, and when they shift the paradigm to using efficiency and prudence rather than searching for ever-more sources of revenue, then I will take the subject seriously.

You don't lose weight by eating more pastries.

I love these calls for "just another $100." Good God, government has always needed more and always will no matter how much we give them.

Waving the BS flag. My top MARGINAL rate is 28%. But with deductions and exemptions my actual rate (federal income tax) is 9-10%. To have an actual tax rate of 28%, you'd have to be well up in the top marginal rate of (IIRC) 36%...and have no deductions. Or a very bad accountant.

Now...when you factor in local property taxes, sales taxes, state income tax, SS and Medicare tax, all that changes. I have no problem believing 28% combined (actually considerably more)...and I suspect Romney was presenting only federal income and cap gains taxes when he said 15%.

We don't have a revenue problem...we have a spending problem.

Per person spending in fixed (2005) $

Government Revenue, per capita, fixed (2005) $

But I am going to teach you something in 5 minutes that you probably haven't learned your whole life. There are billionaires that run the country, many of them are from Saudi Arabia. In fact, more than 10% of america is owned by the Saudi's. The world is controlled by OIL and the FEDERAL RESERVE. It is not controlled by peons donating $100 to get a warm and fuzzy feeling (and gain bragging rights).

So if you prefer, send a check to Warren Buffet or Al-Waleed bin Talal for all we care. It is no different than sending it to the government.

School is over.
Take your superior attitude elsewhere. You know nothing of me. I can say you area liar and what will that mean. I am someone that actually cares and will try to help out rather than just bitching and acting superior as you are.

You can easily earn money the say way Romney does, so stop whining about your choice not to.

p.s. I doubt you pay 28% and if you do, thats your own stupidity for not knowing the difference between effective, and marginal tax rates.

Income tax is not the only tax. I have many friends who pay $7,000 in real estate taxes. I suppose you don't consider those taxes.
