So, Mr. Angry, what, exactly, is your beef with poor people anyway? Are they poor because they want to be poor? Or are too lazy? Too dumb? What is it? Do you also blame a rapee for being raped?
Look, you post post those quotes as if Bush had no choice but to ignore what ALL of his allies were telling him, what the UN was telling him, and what many people here at home were telling him. You post those quotes as if you think Clinton was right, and therefore Bush was right. Well? Where are the WMDs, dude?
They lied to us. Weird thing is when they figured out that there were no wmds they stopped lying to us. Why did they stop lying to us? I was just getting comfortable with my country lying to me, and then they stopped! Holy batcrap!
Looks like our government is not so smart.. what is knew?
Years ago I worked at a welfare department in NJ. I was in many departments and was involved with income maintenance, budgets and mail outs to recipients. Mail outs were sent to recipients every 6 months to see if they were still eligible or if their status had changed. I worked with caseworkers who were sent out in the field .
I do know of free cell phone usage in NYC but it is limited. It could be a state program benefit. If you have real need , there are programs listed to each state. See if you are eligible. I see nothing wrong with someone who needs true assistance to get it. I have seen many cheaters as well who use the system and lie to get benefits they are not entitled to.
This angers me somewhat as I feel some get the shaft and others get to live lofty off the system and think they are quite the sly one.
It angers me as well when people game the system. It hurts all of us, not the least of whom are those who truly need it. So go after the gamers, not those who actually need it.
If the working poor are unable to buy food... I would like to know why... is it poor financial planning? is it because of low income? what is it and how do we fix it? Unfortunately, there are people here who think throwing food at them will fix it... If its a problem of low wages, then increase the minimum wage... if it is poor financial planning, then cut it off and force them to think... more likely, it is a mixtures of things, I rather the Food Stamp program would actually evaluate each family and tell them how to fix their problems or tell the government what needs to be done... actually fixing the problem is the solution... throwing money at it is idiotic...
I think you should spend a couple of days at the food stamp office and talk to some of the people who work there and some of their clients before you put them out on the street with no food. I don't know what state gives out free phones, but they don't give them out here, otherwise I'd have signed up for it. I pay for my phone service like everybody else. Secondly, you folk who are so dead set against any kind of assistance to poor Americans need to explain to the rest of us how it is that you believe that the poor, many of whom work (many in more than one job) don't deserve the assistance that YOU provide them, ignoring the fact that they are paying taxes as well. In fact, as a whole, the poor in this country pay more in taxes than many fortune 500 companies who don't pay ANY TAXES AT ALL! You want to end welfare? End corporate welfare! End freebies to the ultra rich!
So, you figure "screw them! If THEY get something from the government, I sure am gonna jump in too!"
Look. I understand that you are disabled. I feel for you. You SHOULD be taken care of to the extent that you need help.
yes, kind of scary don't you think.. especially for the working poor.. we don't need to waste the tax payers money... do you really know how bad the banks are in shape?? Ever look at the website of crisis12 or newamerica21? I am in Florida now and I can tell you there are foreclosures here galore. I would say 95 percent of all homes in some large cities are in foreclosure or already was in foreclosure.. the banks are bleeding money and it is worse than anyone can imagine here in Florida as far as the economical collapse to the banking system.
