You can't start and stop it at will--YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT EVERY DAY, WHETHER YOU'RE HAVING SEX OR NOT. The pill costs exactly the same if you have ZERO sex during the month, or if you're having it multiple times a day. Are you really that ignorant?

Second, even Rush admits that what he said was awful. He called her a **** and a prostitute--how is that not directed at her personally? Unfortunately, he's trying to pass it off as a joke now. I'm a republican woman, I have a great sense of humor, and I'm not laughing.

Why I Apologized to Sandra Fluke - The Rush Limbaugh Show
He's said way harsher things than this since he's been on the air and no one made a big deal. Same thing happened to Imus. It's not right because they earn ratings for being extreme then all of a sudden the rules change and they get in hot water. Rush will weather this and like Imus and others he had to apologize but people know it's just business and he doesn't mean the apology.

It's one thing to have an opinion. It's another to say hateful, derogatory, sexist comments and name-calling in a public forum. It will be interesting to see what UNC does about this.

I believe I will be selecting other radio stations to listen to than the four Raleigh stations managed by Harlow. Here they are for folks not interested in the entire article.

Raleigh, NC Stations provided by Clear Channel – Dick Harlow

WDCG-FM, 105.1: Adult Contemporary

WKSL-FM, 93.9: Adult Contemporary

WRDU-FM, 106.1: News and Talk

WRVA-FM, 100.7: Classic Hits

With 25 million listeners, Rush can do a lot of damage to the reputation of his sponsors!
Rush's vulgar ideas and rantings become associated with the product being advertised. What company wants to be associated with total disrespect of more than half of the population (women)?

Why would Rush want to do that? He doesn't. Rush doesn't realize what he is doing. He is like a bull in a china shop.

One thing Rush never has to worry about is listeners. As long as people keep dropping out of school he has a steady supply.

$1000 a year would not only include the prescription, but the doctor's visits, which would also not be covered. You have to be seen by a physician to go on the pill, and then do follow-up monitoring, because some women have serious side effects, and the pill can aggravate some preexisting health conditions. Since the pill adds additional progesterone and estrogen to your body, different brands can and can't be tolerated by some women. Just because Walmart offers $9.00 a month generic birth control pills doesn't mean that many women can take them. Walmart offers the $9 generics for only two different types--I checked it out--when a much broader range of BC pills to deal with different women's bodies and needs are offered at a much higher price. If you are using the pill to treat a medical condition, the costs of care and monitoring (lab work, etc.) would be even higher.
This is completely true.

Honey, the ACA was passed in 2009. The regulations that are now being discussed (not remembering the page but you can do a Ctrl+F and find birth control) went into affect in October of last year.

Also, in case you didn't see Blunt amendment failed horribly since this whole BC thing is a non-issue in the first place.

I'm honestly surprised that UNC would sponsor him in the first place. You'd think they would steer clear of all things political to keep from alienating alumni donors.

Fat people like Rush "Porky Pig" Limbaugh should not be covered by health insurance when he gets his heart attack. Gluttony is a sin in the Judaeo-Christian religion.
