let's stop playing "gotcha" games and discuss the issue.
Pregnancy can be torturous.
Women suffer during pregnancy.
Women die during pregnancy and childbirth and from health conditions resulting from pregnancy and childbirth.
It's morning sickness, and debilitating nausea. It's exhaustion and swollen feet. It's back-aches and not sleeping and strange cravings. It's medical conditions like high blood pressure and pregnancy-related diabetes.
Men don't bear any of these consequences. Women do.
When you assert that women should bear these consequences, knowing full well that men won't bear those consequences, you are essentially saying that it is WOMEN who should be punished for non-procreational sex. Since the consequences are solely placed on women.
Humans have a sex drive. Sex may be the process for procreation, but sex is such a prevalent drive that it is engaged not just for the purpose of procreation. And if you think that that should not be the case, that men and women should only engage in sex for the purpose of procreation, then why did your God make it so people want to have sex, for the pleasure it gives, for how it adds a special dimension of intimacy to marriage? Why did your God make people like sex so much?
And if you think sex should only be for procreation, why did God make doctors who can sterilize people, or who can abort fetuses? If God is behind every pregnancy, why does he cause so many miscarriages? God is all-powerful, isn't he? Couldn't God stop a woman from having an abortion if he wanted to? Which begs the question, if God is okay with a woman having an abortion, why aren't you? God doesn't stop it, there haven't been any thunderbolts from heaven seeking out abortion providers.
Which states have the highest teen abortion rates? The abstinence only states, or the comprehensive sex ed states?
Just need to point out, that the correllation between "abstinence-only" states and abortion statistics will be tenuous. The more telling statistic will be in teen pregnancy rates. For the simple reason that the availability of abortion is not the same in all states. Where is a Wyoming teenager going to go to get an abortion? Where is a New Jersey teenager going to go to get an abortion? The difference between states in availablity of abortion is staggering.

If a substantial portion of those 18 and 19 year-old teen 'girls' don't want to become pregnant, but are having intercourse because of pressure from teen boys, the state of young womanhood is pretty bad.
Still avoiding the other statistic. More than half of abortions are by women who have bc but don't use it consistently. That's not a problem for me... a woman can have 2, 5, 10 abortions for all I care. But I'd think choicers who claim they'd prefer a reduction in unwanted pregnancy would care a little more about the irresponsibility of those women and their sexmates.

Not necessarily. Black and Hispanic women have the highest abortion rates. One of the reasons for that is this eye-opening finding from the National Survey of Reproductive and Contraceptive Knowledge (survey of unmarried women):

So they won't use birth control because they think the government pushes it on them as a way of limiting minority populations, and then when they get pregnant, they get an abortion which does exactly the same thing... limits the minority population. Senseless. Absolutely senseless. /smh

You are stupid. Effective contraceptives, such as the IUD, can also help to reduce unintended pregnancies. Yes, the most effective birth control is abstinence.
An IUD is not a contraceptive contrivance, it is an an abortifacient contrivance. The difference and key distinction being that contraception is intended to prevent conception from occurring while an abortifacient is intended to destroy the life that has been conceived.
This plays right to the heart of this thread topic, no matter how abortifacient contrivance is perceived (they are commonly advertised as being no different than contraception) the end result is always intended to be termination of life after conception.

All you have to do is read Margaret Sanger's own writing to know that she was a hardened proponent of eugenics even more so than someone like Adolf Hitler. What is disturbing is that historically there was major advocacy for eugenics in the United States (lead by people like Margaret Sanger, Rockefeller family, etc) that had to repackage themselves after the US got into WW2 because they did not want to be associated with a national enemy whereas beforehand they had direct links between themselves and the Third Reich. Furthermore the eugenics movement never went away, it just transformed into the overpopulation movement of the 1960's-70's lead by the exact same people.
Dr. E Michael Jones wrote a landmark book entitled Libido Domanandi which details the roots of the sexual revolution from the lead up to the French Revolution to the end of the 20th century. I cannot recommend this book strongly enough as it provides an incredibly well sourced analysis of how sexuality has been used as a means of political control and has contributed to the destruction of billions of lives.
