This is stirring a lot of heat. What Obama should be doing is inserting 'Thanking God' back in the Thanksgiving Address. To do so would be respecting the founders traditions and heritage.President Washington thanked God in 1789. President Washington and all of the other Founders did everything they could to secure the blessings of God for our country. Here we go again with the "sky god" rhetoric. "Thank science?" - so a scientist sat down one day and invented the universe and all of eternity? The miracle of life is a mystery. No one knows for sure how it started...but we did not make ourselves - that is for sure. In the end..we all sit in diapers if we are lucky and wired up on morphine...no one is anything more than a helpless baby in the beginning and in the end...In the mean time- I ask only for mercy from a creator...cos YOU people will not be there for me in the end...I will have no one but God...whether he exists or not- HE is still more reliable than YOU.
I believe in god because that is how I was raised. I believe in him in a spiritual way though. I don't go to church anymore because the priests are just men...nothing special about them. Maybe god is a higher power, I don't know. What I do know is that you can't rely on an invisible entity even if you do believe. You have to rely and believe in yourself and not use god as a crutch.

Let me get this straight. Your belief system says that if the President does not ask God for blessings for the country, God will take his blessings and move on to another country?
