The title of the thread makes it sound as if they sell young children at Walmart.

Hopefully the deceased criminal's accomplices are charged with felony murder. They committed multiple crimes that resulted in her death. First, the theft. Second, failure to stop when directed to do so by a LE officer. Third, feloneous escape (I believe is the charge). 4th, either attempted murder or assault with a deadly weapon for trying to run over the cop. They created the situation in which their fellow criminal was killed...hopefully they do the time for it.

It was self-defense against attempted vehicular manslaughter.

How do you know anyone knew of the 2 kids ? The women had probably left them in the backseat while they stole from the store.

Not only were they thieves but they should be charged with child endangerment.

When I served on a jury involving assault by several people the law was if 1 in a group assaults someone, they are all guilty of the same crime.

Don't want to be killed by a cop? Don't try to run him over. Seems some people can't figure that out.

'She threw it in reverse and tried to run over the deputy,' said Harris County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Deputy Thomas Gilliland.

Good Shoot.

Her accomplices should be charged with accessory.

Sorry, I won't shed a tear for her.. She made her bed.. If she hadn't put herself and her children in harms way, nobody would be going to her funeral... She created the entire situation..

There has to be some expectation that they use better sense than the criminal they're trying to apprehend.

Otherwise, we're just in for a free for all where anything goes on both sides.
I agree with the bolded. I do think a big part of it was the reaction of being caught between a moving vehicle and the door, and since she had already hit him with her purse in the store when he tried to apprehend her at first, he knew she wasn't going to give up. I'm just saying she did take on that risk that she could run into a cop with a trigger finger when she chose to commit a crime.

I am not happy with the fact that someone is firing a gun with kids in the car (if he noticed them). I do feel bad for the kids...partly. Their future with such a mother wasn't all that bright, though.

There's no win here.
