Why are they claiming they will keep their guns if the law changes? If you own a gun and law changes to make that particular weapon illegal, than keeping it is NOT responsible.
I keep hearing how responsible these gun owners are-- Yet when faced with actual gun crime, they abdicate responsibility. When faced with a possible change in law which may illegalize assault rifles, they will do the OPPOSITE of what's responsible and retain their illegal weapons.
if you repeal the 2nd Amendment, and NO war starts because of it, and NO state secedes, then i will give up my firearms. if all you or the feds do is pass a law banning firearms, then the 2nd Amendment trumps all those laws as the Constitution and bill of rights overrules those laws.

I tried to corner the market on 20 and 30 round mags but someone beat me to it (sold out, back ordered). Those things will be $500 a piece if a ban becomes law. Since no legitimate legislation will pass the House, Obama and Holder will do a unconstitutional by pass with an executive order which will end up in the Supreme Court. It's about expanding executive powers and control. Our freedom is slipping away. Wake up America, this is the justification they have been hoping for to enact gun control.

In 1994, the sale of assault weapons with high capacity magazines was banned. Ownership of pre-existing items was not outlawed. There was no government collection of those firearms. I foresee a similar situation this time.

It is instructive that there was no decrease in gun violence during that ban period. It increased.

Well, then, I'd suggest you open your eyes and look at the world around you.
When the government "comes for your guns" (which they won't, but you'd better not be caught with one) it will be because WE THE PEOPLE have seen more than enough pain, anguish, and death caused by a sick and twisted public saturation of killing machines to say ENOUGH. It will be because WE THE PEOPLE want them to. The proof and the evidence that the general public cannot be trusted with guns is beyond overwhelming.
Open your eyes and understand that you (collectively), the zealous gun advocates, are the tyranny. WE THE PEOPLE must and will do whatever it takes to protect our children from you and your hopelessly misguided obsession.

Credible analysis indicated that it was inconclusive and too short a time frame. Also too many holes where allowed, certain types of assault weapons were inhibited others of equal killing "benefit" were allowed. So spare us the NRA spew, and look into the actual facts.
The Sandy Hook Shooter broke the law in the most heinous way possible to get his hands on a gun by murdering his own mother! Do you think crooks will stop being crooks because of yet another law?
And yet you (gun advocates, generally) cling religiously to the notion that the public can be trusted with guns. And that your children will be safer with more guns than less....it boggles the mind.
I suppose you'll hand over your gold and silver when the gov't demands it (again) at what THEY want to pay. I suppose you'll quit drinking all alcohol when they outlaw that (again), and stop all Rx meds that Big Pharma can't gouge to the levels they like--even if you die as a result.

If you were a citizen when Hitler outlawed and confiscated guns from law abiding Germans, you'd have been voluntarily handing over your only means of stopping the Holocaust and encouraging the development of a world-threatening totalitarian government that murdered millions.
In America, do you really think criminals worry about breaking laws about "having" guns when the laws for "killing people with guns" are quite a bit worse?
Also, have you not researched the numerous examples where Spree Killers wandered college campuses and schools with plenty of time and no resistance (while the police waited at a safe distance), making sure they killed EVERY VICTIM? Heard the stories of those who survived by luck/hiding, and would have sold their souls to protect their friends if they had any means to stop the systematic Spree Killer?
There WILL be psychological breakdowns in a nation of over 300 million, and disarming everyone ELSE won't solve anything. It will pave the way for a new Nazi Germany, however, if that's what liberals (as well as our totalitarian Socialist leaders) want.
