At least you've got the bigotry part down, you want to try a real conversation now?

We lost Vietnam because we couldn't invade North Vietnam for fear of starting WWIII. We wound up fighting a brushfire war on their terms as a result. That wasn't the full might of the U.S. military either, troop strength in SE Asia never exceeded 700k. The U.S. won every battle vs N. Vietnam and the NVA and inflicted ginormous casaulties, 52,000 during the Tet Offensive alone. You want to compare the U.S. gun owners to the Vietcong?

Remind everyone how Saddam's million man army fared against U.S. military? You guys are delusional to even contemplate this.
I don't think we are "contemplating" anything.

But you are delusional if you think an internal conflict would follow the rule book and have only a few citizens on one side and the entire military on the other side. That would never happen.

There are many reasons why a more powerful army gets defeated. Your comments on Viet Nam are a good example. Fear of X or Y happening might also get a traitorous government overthrown.

That is not even close to the childish scenario that you are fantasizing about.
It's exactly the same thing. Washington rebelled against his government. There is no other way to describe it.

And I doubt that Washington and Adams would agree that it was childish. They risked their lives to overthrow an abusive government. And it could happen again.

The 2nd Ammendment was included so that the general population could fight against the invading British, who was our "government" at the time. There were many things included in the constitution that were morally wrong, and have since been corrected. For instance, blacks being counted as 3/5ths of a person? Denying women the right to vote? Our Founding Fathers were not perfect men, and they, in no way shape or form, could have predicted that 230+ years later our civilian population would have access to the dangerous firearms that exist today. Automatic weapons are designed to kill other people, en masse. Why we are supplying our people with the ability to buy guns that kill each other en massee and then acting shock when it happens again and again is beyond me.

Which member of the US Supreme Court are you? What qualifies you to render decisions on who is failing to follow the US Constitution and declare that a tyranny exists?

"United States" is just a name. What's important is not the name but the ideas and founding principals for which she stands. Any government willing to confiscate weapons, trample on the constitution is the traitor to the founding principals of this republic and you're a traitor for siding with them. Not all traitors need weapons, in fact most traitors are cowards.

Another supposed expert in Constitutional law, please provide some details on your background as a US Supreme Court justice and legal scholar.

That makes at least two US Supreme Court justices so so far, who knew that CD forums had such an esteemed membership.

The US Supreme Court has already ruled on this and has agreed that the people of this country have a right to own self defense firearms, read much?

Anybody that claims their fellow citizens wouldn't turn on one another is forgetting about Germany and the civil war.
Don't ever say "never".
Are we that close to it?
No, but.....if you let the guns go now, should it come to a need for them, do you think "you'll" get them back?

Fail argument. Automatic weapons are banned, unless you have a FFL or go through BAFTE.
