If you rely on others to tell you (or if you will: "analyze" "interpret") the law for you and what rights you have or do not have, you don't have any rights.

Some people are cheer their own imprisonment because that's all they've ever known and anything else seems scary.

The 2nd Ammendment was included so that the general population could fight against the invading British, who was our "government" at the time
Incorrect. The Revolutionary War ended in 1783 and the Bill of Rights was adopted in 1791, after the British had left.

So you go ahead, you keep up the bigoted comments and you keep insinuating that 50 - 60 million gun owners in the US are nothing more than a bunch of hicks that shouldn't be feared. The people who actually make decisions that really matter know better than to make that mistake.
So if the point of the second amendment is to protect the american citizen from the government and you're not afraid of the military that has an extreme advantage then why are you scared? Do you think Harvard educated politicians are going to take over with their expert marksmanship?

Because a heavily armed population is more likely to rebel if infringed upon. You can't have a revolution without guns, and the first step to foment any revolution is to bring lots and lots of guns into the region.

So the government knows that and is likely and less likely to blatantly infringe upon the rights of her citizens. The second amendment is there to keep the government honest. If the population was disarmed, all our civil liberties would begin to corrode at a much greater speed than they're right now.

Who said anything about not being afraid? Only a moron would not be scared of having to fight for his life. Sometimes people have to do things that are scary, that's how life works.

Nobody is fantasizing about anything and nobody in here is a gun nut so you can put that BS aside, you can use childish attempts at shaming people all you like but they don't work.

If you don't hold the US Constitution and our rights which it protects to be valuable then just step aside and let people who do hold them to be valuable stand up for you.

We've done it before, we'll do it again. You're welcome.

200+ years ago having a gun in your house may have been a threat to the government and helped to keep it in line. Your guns are not even a concern to the government. All they do is pose a threat to society if you do not secure them properly. That is assuming you are a responsible gun owner which I'm sure you are.

But please you gun lovers, please stop with the guns stop the threat of government tyranny because that is a myth. They are not the least, tiny bit concerned about your guns and the cops really are not that worried either. If you get out of line with your guns they have people to deal with you very efficiently.

These 300 lb weekend warriors waddling around with their assault rifles and eye and ear protection would last one day. They they would trade their AR 15 for a bag of cheeseburgers.

So you're saying our military is infiltrated with potential traitors? May, I thought you righties loved the military. I guess it's just their guns you love.
