The original post is an insult to Republicans, and you think that they should not respond in like manner?
Actually it is a very ignorant post.

The Taliban are the conservatives of Afghanistan, essentially 3rd world equivalent of the Republicans/TeaPartiers.

To put this into perspective, you should have gone further back in time. Carter was helping afghan rebel fighters before Reagan got the U.S. more involved. But the object was to have Russians kicked out of Afghanistan.

In March 1985, the Reagan administration issued National Security Decision Directive 166,29 a secret plan to escalate covert action in Afghanistan dramatically:

Afghanistan, the CIA, bin Laden, and the Taliban

Beginning in 1985, the CIA supplied mujahideen rebels with extensive satellite reconnaissance data of Soviet targets on the Afghan battlefield, plans for military operations based on the satellite intelligence, intercepts of Soviet communications, secret communications networks for the rebels, delayed timing devices for tons of C-4 plastic explosives for urban sabotage, and sophisticated guerrilla attacks, long-range sniper rifles, a targeting device for mortars that was linked to a U.S. Navy satellite, wire-guided anti-tank missiles, and other equipment.

I'm not a Republican and I'm not a big fan of Reagan, but this is kind of pointless. Actually, not even kind of. And, if you were an honest person, you'd acknowledge that it was actually Carter who got the ball rolling.

During World War II, we made common cause with the second biggest SOB on the planet (Stalin) to defeat the biggest SOB on the planet (Hitler). Should we have refused to be in a military alliance with the Soviet Union at the time?

So are the Pakistani children that Obamas drones have killed the enemy too?

The UK should do everything in their power to keep the prince from returning to Afghanistan, because the Taliban would love to lay their hands on him.

The prince should also learn how to keep his big mouth shut.

Looks like two pronged attack thread to me, one aimed at republicans, the other at the Prince?
If you're confused, you are not alone.

There are obvious security implications to him saying that. It isn't like he is some anonymous internet poster the Taliban couldn't give a flying feather about - this guy is high profile. Totally stupid thing to say!

The way you worded that implies he has done something that requires him be ashamed and contrite about. He hasn't. He is a member of the Royal Marines, he is supposed to kill people who are trying to kill him or his fellow military members. Good for him for serving his nation, and not just saying he's doing it, but actually performing his job.

Yes that's the problem Reagan got us more involved with the Taliban because they are conservatives. And don't get me started on the right wing extreme alliance between Reagan and Pakistan's General Ziaul Haq around the same time...Reagan was all too excited to support radical Taliban like governments around the world and the people have suffered. And now we have the radical TeaParty in America with dirt poor ratings.
