Too bad the tea party has repeatedly come out against all three, 14th amendment is part of the Constitution, so is the 1st.
The American TEA Party: Change the 14th Amendment! No More Anchor Babies!
It should be Change the 14th Amendment BACK to what it authoris intended - No More Anchore Babies.
Tea Party Express is proud to stand for six simple principles:
No more bailouts
Reduce the size and intrusiveness of government
Stop raising our taxes
Repeal Obamacare
Cease out-of-control spending
Bring back American prosperity
The Tea Party Express came into existence as the tea party movement was awakened by the famous Rick Santelli rant that swept across the country in February of 2009.
Like I said earlier, we could post web sites of fringe Christian groups and claim they represent what all Christians are about.
I could start posting lone blog posts and statements from wacko Muslim terror groups, or The New Black Panthers, and claim they represent all Muslims, or all blacks.
I hate their "birther" stance, their efforts to legitimize rape, and their bigotry against Muslims and people of other religion.
^^^This. I'd add bigotry in general toward anyone unlike them. Another thing that I absolutely can't stand is their smug "I'm a real American" self righteousness. As if others--even other Republicans--who don't adhere to their ultraconservative viewpoints are not American, or hate the constitution, or are basically traitors. I'm as American as anyone else. So don't you dare tell me that I'm less of an American than you.
To most tea partiers, the amendments don't count. I can't tell you how many tea partiers have told me they want to repeal the 16th, 17th and alter the 14th amendments. Sorry, folks. If you support the constitution, you have to support the amendments too, otherwise you're not supporting the constitution.
I might also add that if this were 1787, these people would have opposed the Constitution's ratification in the first place. Too much central power for their sensitivities.

Arizona's original version of SB1070 violated the 4th, yet it had widespread tea party support. Same for prayer in public schools, which is widely supported by tea partiers.
