And you have every right to believe that and tell your kids that. HOWEVER, they will learn about the theory of evolution and the origins of life in public school biology. God belongs in a Sunday school class.

Species change over time until they are different enough from the original to be a new species. Adaptation, inheritance, mutation, isolation all play a part. It is th process by which the multitude of life, all with a common ancester, came to be, and are coming to be.
If we evolve as you say, God is the creator of evolution as well. Yet God states in his word that we did not evolve . We were created as a man and a woman. Not an ameoba or fish.
There are plenty of Christians that have no problem reconciling evolution and a scientific based origin of life. It seems those that take the bible to be more literal than others have more of an issue with science in general.
You cannot relegate the creator of the universe to a particular place or time.
Besides - we aren't discussing whether God should be taught about in public schools, we are discussing whether evolution should be taught in public schools.
Oddly, many evolution supporters seem unable to grasp that concept, and hence keep going off topic.
