Besides..Thatcher is dead. Think she cares about who shows up?

Maybe her family should invite the families of missing Chileans. Or maybe a few members of the old South African nationalist party. Coupla' members of some of the Northern Ireland protestant militias would make the party complete.

Why not? This will be a busy week for the president pushing gun control issues. Really, they couldn't even spare that moron Biden? This is a truely classless move by a classless president.
Obama isn't good enough to clean out Lady Thatcher's Porta-Potti. He should not foul the proceedings with his presence.

Damn....all that power she had and she was reduced to using Porta-Potty's in the end?

Wow...how sad.

Low class on Obama's part. But in truth, he's doing the Brits a favor by staying away. There isn't room for his narcicism at an event like this.

There's no pleasing some people.

It seems as though Obama managed to send an envoy to Hugo Chavez's funeral:

Obama sending official delegation to Chavez funeral - Washington Times

So he sends his respects for one of the most brutal, anti-American leaders in the hemisphere, but can't manage to do so for our strongest ally? Low classs.

One of the expressions of the sentiment towards Thatcher from the Britons is rather amusing: Her funeral should be privatized. Let private companies bid for it, and the lowest bidder gets to be the winner.
