Pick an issue on the left that is diametrically opposed to the rights and defend it without attacking the left.
Look at this administration current manipulation. Obama had the power to make the cuts which would have the least effect but Obama rejected the power so he can maximize the pain. They did this as a political mandate because the president believes it gives him power to demand more tax revenue. It's simply government manipulating the people for their political agenda.
Be careful with them fact thingys. The left dislikes them.
Obama signed the sequester.
Obama wants highers taxes now but not in 2010.

Practice what you preach. The talking point in your OP is to accuse the left of attacking the right. You made several statements - none of them are factual. What exactly (without bashing liberals) is it that you want to discuss? Women's issues, taxes, gay marriage? What facts can you use to prove that gay marriage is wrong? How about equal pay for women? Increasing taxes for high income earners? No emotion, no religion just give me the facts. Can you? If not you are asking others to do what you cannot. The thing is, we take stands on these issues based on morals, values and opinions. I believe that character is important. What we feel makes good character is what differs. I also believe in personal responsibility, but it doesn't mean I feel that anyone should starve or be homeless. Another difference is that I understand that there are many people with different values than myself and as long as they are doing no harm, I respect that.

Here are reasons it's a good idea, in no particular order:
1. Everyone needs health care at some point and will use it
2. It's only fair and just that everyone pay into it. No free-riders. In a universal, tax-supported system, this can happen.
3. There is a lot of waste and overlap in our current system including lots of money spent on advertising and marketing that would be better spent on care. One system eliminates the need for this.
4. Having one big nationwide system gives you economies of scale to negotiate better rates on drugs and medical services - saving lots of money.
5. In the countries that have universal systems, large majorities of their populations like it. That's not to say there's not room for improvement, but they would not want to switch to our system. I think this is important.
6. While its true that certain individuals of means do travel to the US for certain procedures, the aggregate results over the entire populations of those countries are superior to our aggregate results.
7. We already have the framework for such a system in place. Medicare. It's a matter of expanding it.
8. Obamacare is not a true universal system and doesn't go nearly far enough.
For those on the left, for once try to say why what you believe is best for this nation has merit without attacking the right.
What kind of idiot would admit that their ultimate goal is to dispossess everyone and implement collective ownership?
Socialism boils down to compulsory labor for the benefit of another (*slavery) and dispossession of one for the benefit of another (*theft by government).
Frankly, with such goals, all they can do is attack, smear, distract, and misdirect as they "pick the pockets" of the people.
Oh, and don't forget that while private property ownership is abolished under collectivism, it is still protected under constitutional government - while that lasts.
