Coming out and saying that he's gay will negate any shock (for lack of a better word) later when he's in public with his boyfriend or maybe some day husband. If suddenly he appears with another man it's going to be a bigger deal because there is going to be first the "is he or isn't he" then the "he is" followed by the "why was he hiding it?" and all that nonsense.

And yes, Rock Hudson would not have had a career if it was known that he was gay, but thank God our society has grown up since then. An openly gay actor now may not be the leading man in a hetero romantic movie, but would certainly not have problems finding work today.
We have come a long way haven't we?

So, it's not a "romantic movie" in the strictest sense, but, I am willing to bet that Zachary Quinto will still get the girl in the upcoming "Star Trek" movie.

Nature does take its course, and now instead of being forced to marry the opposite sex for the sake of society, gay people are more free to live as NATURE intended. If your nephew is gay, he will be gay. If he is not gay, he will not be gay. Profit motive is complete and utter nonsense.
Well that's just ducky!

He's barely active and most likely done. He's what 35 or 36 been riding the pine for years making millions. That comes with being lucky enough to be seven feet tall. Hey this guy made a genius PR move IMO. He just created his post NBA career.

Yep. Endorsements, who knows how far he can take it. Nobody knew who the hell he even was before heck most basketball fans didn't know who he was. And if somebody doesn't hire him they will be deemed homophobes.
