Lol, no kidding. The least they could've done was try harder to find "reason" to be offended. Here are some better alternatives:

1. The ad promotes heart health. I'm a doctor. Hence, the ad is trying to make me lose my job.
2. The ad assumes that since the dad is black, he needs to protect his heart more than a white man!
3. The ad's promoting worrying about health to young children who shouldn't have to worry about it.
4. They are taking God out of Cheerios! *tear*
5. The ad promotes heart health, which will help with the continuation of the human race, which we all know is hurting the environment!
6. The ad is racist... I don't see a single Mexican, do you? Case closed!!

cute ad

the advertising company did a great job

1) release the ad
2) reason to cause media spin, but have their demographic overwhelming back cheerio
3) everyone watches the ad

I bet this controversy is why they cast it with mixed race

boo yah, Marketing win.

The only losers, the racists

and who wanted them to win

I've often wondered who won the race. The racist trolls or the people who feel the need to post how offended they are by them. If people would just click the spam button by their comment they will no longer see it and eventually after a 100 people click that the comment automatically disappears.

The only way you're going to win with these trolls. Being offended just fuels their fire.

You don't get out much do you.

Since black women are vocal about it you can't simply write it off as a white supremacist thing to be against race mixing. In fact many asian american males are starting to become very anti-race mixing. (which is understandable since asian american males have it pretty bad, there's alot of angry asian men in the U.S. because asian women and white women won't give them a chance)

If there's not any balance in the dating game then things might very well get ugly. There has to be balance and unfortunatly you can't force someone to be attracted to someone of another race.

This diversity experiment that the west is engaged in has a very interesting and unpredictable future for it.
one angry heffa. that's all you got? I have a whole thread of angry white men plotting to leave angry comments on cheerios' sites. I've seen nothing but bw gushing over this ad like it's the best thing since slice bread. I think it's corny. but most commercials are corny.

You mean to tell me you don't hear stories about how black men and white women catch alot of s*** from angry black women? There's alot more of them out there than you think who do no approve of it. And the funny thing is, is that I'm white and even I know this. So you must REALLY be living under a rock.

I'm not portraying black women as hateful, there's nothing hateful about that womans opinion. It's only hateful to you because you can't fathom the idea that someone has an opinion different than yours.
i'm going to let you in on a little secret. that is a fantasy that some (NOT ALL) black men who date out want people to believe. some of them will go to ridiculous heights to try to be seen by black women with their girls or biracial children. here in Virginia, most black men are with black women. it is rare to see an ir couple, especially in predominantly black areas. black women are not worried about getting dates out here.

Great post. Quoted for truth.

I have a LOT of stories that I could share but the most recent one happened only a few months ago. I had a small group of new hires that were going through orientation: one Black man, one White man and two Hispanic women. After the orientation session, I open it up for a Q&A. Everyone else asks questions regarding HR related issues (vision plan, vacation accrual, etc., etc.) So the Black man asks a question about adding another person onto his health plan but ends the question with the statement..."my girlfriend is White". The statement was completely irrelevant to the question and I waited for him to add another comment to somehow make the statement relevant, but that was all that he had to add. I still find it puzzling.

So do black women as well, the foolishness is not limited to black men. Many non-whites, not just black people, are more proud of having white mates more than white people themselves. It is the ultimate prize for many non-white men and women, because sadly many non-whites have bought into concepts of white supremacy more than whites have. This is why many non-whites have worse opinions of blacks than white people do, the people who taught them this crap!

How do you know they are white males? You are reading comments on the internet made by people you do not know and will never meet and cannot see. But you can tell the race and gender of such people.

LOLs. Get a life.

By the way, you are willingly reading comments you don't like, no one is forcing you to look at them.
