They need to start massively fining companies like Walmart who's entire business model is to off load costs on to taxpayers. Make them pay 100% of the cost of the services for their employees. They can either pay their employees more or they can pay a massive tax bill but their business model of sticking taxpayers with the bill must change.

The issue at hand imo is that their has to be a change in policy at the top, if we are ever going to solve our economic crisis. Despite what the tabloids say, we're not out of our recession yet, there's still not enough jobs, and the jobs available are not providing enough income.

It's not a healthy Economy if only a few are benefitting.

So tell me, why am I subsidizing a company that made $15.7 BILLION in profit in 2011?
That number is nonsense though.

If a 62 year old opts to go on to Social Security and then become a Walmart greeter...that is not a tax subsidy to Walmart. Liberals have been lying about these numbers for years. Liberals could make a good argument while telling the truth on the real numbers.

Additionally, with 1/4th of the country on Food Stamps...and 55% of adults having received a payment from the government at one time...I bet that they all don't work at Walmart. Why single them out?

Additionally, Walmart pays an income tax rate of 32.4%. This does not count property taxes, state income taxes, customs, etc...

??? many ppl who earn min wage qualify for govt assistamce if they ave kids.

employers might prefer to hire only workers w/o kids but they wouldn't get away with that.

And here I thought people worked at wal mart of their own free will. And along the same lines, people shop there of their own free will. Dont like the business model? Stop patronizing them.

wm leaves CA, all that biz goes to smaller stores = employment might increase if wm sales are higher per employee.

Great; Amazon could use retail being totally destroyed by your idea. America has 3 million cashier jobs, millions more stocking shelves, maintaining stores, etc.

They can all go fishing 365 days per year..better catch fish..won't have money to buy it.

People act like we can't survive without these huge corporations. How do you think we did it back in the day???

The income level of the community may actually increase as more of the profits would go back directly into the community.
