Altering? Benzodiazepines are used to treat anxiety and to a lesser extent, as muscle relaxers. I don't think they'd get GZ all ramped up, looking for a fight, but it may have made it easier for him to confront someone of whom he might otherwise fear, I guess.

He had no criminal record because the school chose not to report his crimes to the cops. They had probable cause, but didn't want to give a young black student a criminal record.
Besides, not having a criminal record is sometimes due to not getting caught. TM was lucky, caught and still no record.
More than that, they didn't want to hurt their "statistics" by actually providing data that they had another criminal in the school. So they suppressed the evidence and didn't report it to the police. They should be charged as accessories.
Is there a transcript available of the questions GZ was asked on this lie detector test?
We're supposed to take GZs word that he turned his back on tm at the doorstep of his house after a nice peaceful exchange of words and he got taken by surprise in the way back to his car?
No way. What happened was GZ ran his mouth, TM ran his mouth and they got in a fight. GZ became no better then the average cocky teenager except he had an agenda and a gun. If TM were alive they should both face charges for disorderly conduct. But because TM is dead, GZ should pay.
If I ever had to shoot someone in an absolute legitimate self defense situation, and the person I had to shoot happened to be black, is there any chance that I would not be portrayed as a racist in the media?
