Notice they didn't boycott this until there was national media attention on it and they could get free publicity by doing so. Also note they don't boycott the other 20+ states that also have stand your ground laws. They might actually lose money if they did that. So they we have a list of entertainment acts for sane people to avoid.
Isnt that the general idea of a boycott? Not much of a boycott if you are the only one that knows about it...
Various pinheaded artists with little or no understanding of what "stand your ground" means, caused those cancellations.
If they want to cancel their own concerts, that's their right and privilege. There's even a category for such acts: "Cutting off your nose to spite your face".
Mary, Rod, Eddie and all the rest: You have the right to remain stupid. You have the right to pay your concert promoters whatever cancellation penalties you contracted for, for backing out of a signed contract for no good reason. If you cannot afford the consequences of your actions, a welfare case worker will be assigned to commiserate with you. If you do not understand these rights I have read to you, that's too bad. If you wonder why your popularity has decreased after doing so, it's because nobody finds you important enough to pay attention to.
I vote we support these artists and proactively cancel all of their concerts in every state with a Stand Your Ground law in place or under consideration.

From CNN:
Last week, Gov. Rick Scott met with protesters seeking repeal of the law and told them it won't happen, citing the recommendation of a task force he appointed after Martin's killing.

Less drugs will be sold to these performers and their followers. This is a good thing.
