Class warfare. Point out how expensive something is with the implication that there is something inherently evil about being wealthy.
The Obamas are multimillionaires too by the way, despite how much effort liberals expend in inciting resentment against rich Republicans they somehow forget that.
At the time Barack Obama purchased the house in 2005, he was a senator-elect, having won his first campaign as a politician. According to housing price data from the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), the home was worth only about $1.43 million when Mr. Obama made his first offer. That price was based on the $1.23 million price tag the previous owner paid in 2000, plus added value from normal housing growth. Mr. Obama’s first two offers reflected that reality, coming in at $1.3 million and $1.5 million.
Eventually the negotiated price came in at $1.65 million, approximately $220,000 more than the FHFA’s numbers say it was worth. A few months later Mr. Obama bought a lot adjacent to his home for $104,500. This 1,500 sq. ft. strip of land, now infamously known as the “Rezko” land, has been the subject of much debate ever since Obama purchased it. Both photographs and previous land records seem to indicate the 10′ x 150′ strip of land is not truly “adjacent,” but actually part of the original property, which was intended to be the home’s yard.
and the nanny, and the kids with all their friends and escorts.
W went to his own property, while these ingrates pad the palm of their cronies.
I think it would be obvious if we could see how much it cost to send W for a few days at the ranch, compared to vacations by our current ultra-extravagent elitists. The Obama's seem to love throwing our money away and laughing in our faces about it.
During Bush’s second term alone, Laura Bush made five “goodwill” trips to Africa. President Bush made the trip twice during his presidency. Here is former First Lady Bush at an event the night before their trip in 2008, “Tomorrow, President Bush and I leave for what will be my fifth trip to Africa since 2001, and his second trip to Africa since 2001. I’ve seen the determination of the people across Africa — and the compassion of the people of the United States of America.”
Wow, that’s a lot of trips to Africa. In 2007, Laura Bush also took her daughters with her, and they went on a safari. You know, the same kind of outing that President Obama just canceled.

The irony is that the wealthiest members of Congress are all Democrats,
Obama visited three countries while in Africa - Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. He cut a deal to loan Africa $7 billion dollars to improve electricity throughout Africa (which African companies are quite capable of funding and doing themselves). That $7 billion dollars will go back into the pockets of contractors, probably the majority being US contractors. He also pushed his agenda on gay civil rights. He totally overlooked Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda where violations of human rights are rampant. Michelle promoted youth leadership while herself getting an education while sightseeing. She also attended, along with Laura Bush, as honorary guests, the African First Ladies Summit.
On the other hand, Laura Bush visited Africa twice during GWB's first term, and 5 times during his 2nd term. She also went to Zambia, Mozambique, Mali, Senegal, and Haiti to promote awareness of HIV/AIDS, malaria and the need for greater education for women. She also traveled in the Middle East to discuss concerns about women's health, in particular breast cancer which carried a big stigma in the Middle East. She wanted to break down the stereotyping related to breast cancer. She also went to Burma and spoke to the soldiers and militias to refrain from violence.
You should read about Laura Bush. She's a very classy, refined lady, who doesn't advertise what she continues to do, which is to globally educate (including sub-Sahara) on many issues.
Seeing as how she continues her passion for the causes that she has undertaken, I don't think her trips to Africa were "vacations". Most likely her first 2 trips were the beginning of where she is today.
So don't make it out as if Bush's ranch was some boring place that he went to work.
He obviously set it up for his personal enjoyment.
How many times are you going to move the goal posts here? Now it's not about money, it's about the size of the property? It's a desolate ranch in West Texas, they're all that big or a lot bigger. Every time you spin this to try to create another angle this entire thread becomes more of a joke.

Crawford was not some tiny little ranch.
At 1,583 acres, it is 10 times the size of Disneyland.
And as I previously showed, people go to ranches like this for vacation all the time.
Bush obviously purchased it in 1999 for political reasons, so he could avoid the stress of The White House as much as possible, if he were to become President.
Why else would he purchase land so far away from all the major Texas cities during the exact time he was campaigning to be President?
And notice how he stopped living there as soon as his two terms were over in 2008, and then immediately purchases a new home in one of the biggest cities ... Dallas!
It must have been great for Bush to be able to dodge all those angry taxpayers and government officials, by flying off to Crawford whenever he felt like it! And at the taxpayers expense ... no less!
If that isn't vacation time ... I don't know what is.

And he sure did it often enough!
Why does the size of the ranch matter? You're still harping on pointless things and you're rambling.
