I guess it depends on your point of view...
My uncle had 3,000 acres in Central Montana, and it was barely big enough to provide a living for his family.
I "vacationed" there many times for hunting.
So, sorry, but yes, at less than 1600 acres, it really IS a comparatively tiny "ranch".

For purposes of comparison:
1 section of land=640 acres
1 acre=43,560 sq. ft.
or
4840 sq. yds.

A football field is about 1.32 acres, less if you consider ONLY the actual playing surface, which is a little less than 1 acre.(google it)
Bush didn't buy Crawford to "provide a living" for his family.

Bush obviously purchased it in 1999 to avoid Washington DC as much as possible, if he were to become president.

Otherwise, why would anyone buy such a large property in middle-of-nowhere Texas right at a time when they are running for an office which would require them to move to DC if they were elected?

And who cares about the "exact size" of an acre. My football field analogy was to assist people in visually seeing what an acre looks like. Who are you ... Dr Know-It-All?

Do you know how stupid you sound when you make an assertion like that? Sure disagree with the man's policies, but don't act like they didn't work their asses off to get there.

Never worked an honest day? Right.

Like I said, it's funny that this started off with vacation days and it's shifted to how much money has been spent. Yet, it got funnier with your random blurt of irrational hate.

Bush was trying to escape I imagine. For goodness sakes people were throwing shoes at him on the job he was so disliked during his presidency.

Are you, serious? Coming from a broken family to graduating from Columbia and Harvard and then being in the White House just happened by riding on a flying carpet? He never worked a day in his life?

I'd say Bush, coming from a legacy of wealth and politicians, is definitely the one who rode a magic carpet into public office.

I can't rep you anymore right now, but that one made me actually laugh out loud.
Then I got sad because it is just a bit too true.

If you read through these boards, that's the standard liberal/progressive defense when someone says anything negative about Obama's policies. They either have to blame it all on Bush or call the detractors racist.

Bush was doing a press conference in Baghdad, when somebody threw a shoe at him. I'd love to see what they would do with Obama, wouldn't you?
