The media reports on black crime and they largely ignore white crime. Why? Because black crime sells.
Why does Black crime sell?

Becasue old people. Crime sells and the cranky if not freightened people who watch televsion news are largely elderly.

Excellent question. I am still surprised that this thread is still going. But as someone posted earlier, black crime sells. Black males committing crimes are still news worthy when the news portray us/them in a negative light. It's also sorta saying what do you expect from these hoodlums, who have no fathers, and teen moms.

To highlight a black man who does something positive is rare. Although I will admit that Brian Banks, a black athlete who was falsely accused of raping a young woman, was convicted and put in jail for 10 years. The local LA news has been all over this story because this guy has turned something negative into something positive by pursuing his dream to play pro football.

You are disconnected from reality. The real juicy stories are when middle and upper class white folks go killing their wives or something like that. Then its national news and there's some dateline show about it.

If the media did a special every time a black male killed somebody they'd have to dedicate 1000 TV channels to it 24/7. Here in New Orleans, most of the murders are by young black males. This is a fact. I didn't make them do it and the only people who should be blames are the people who commit the murders. Coddling them and crying about racism doesn't help anything.

If whites are getting off more its because they are more likely to be educated and thus are more likely to afford better lawyers. The legal system is rigged in such a way that it favors the well off and that's the way it always will be.

I'm not too surprised it is up. This is a big subject.

The biggest time certain stories like Brian Banks get so much traction, is when there is a tragedy. Consider Derek Rose. No one is doing anything big on Kobe Bryant. He didn't have a tragic upbringing. Doing bad things is what sells.

Nope. Just walk around any inner-city and they're doing a fine job creating that "boogeyman" themselves. The white man doesn't have to do a thing but cover the news regularly and the job is done.

Imagine that.

green_mariner knows what I'm talking about. He himself fled his comrades in the inner city.

The very fact that you would try to make light of this shows an inability to express your disagreement in a civilized manner, not to mention a low level of maturity.

I never "fled". I have never lived in the inner city a day in my life. I would recommend coming up with a better argument.

No one is arguing that it is easy to come up with some bad stories about Black people by going into the inner city. But this is where I have to ask questions. How come the Black people who are doing great things every day(and I'm not talking about celebrities, I'm talking about regular Blacks who aren't famous) aren't sought after as much?
