Republicans who had total control under GWB and at other times, have always complained loudly about immigration policy, and then did nothing. Why? They value it only as an election-time wedge issue. That is why it's a RW issue now under Obama. You only know what Fox tells you and nothing more.
According to the Homeland Security Office of Immigration Statistics, the unauthorized immigrant population is about 11 million, people who are already in the near-third-world wage level labor pool.
Conservative republicons do not care about illegal immigration reform, because their base might have to start paying a competitive wage. Their past inaction and current media braying and bellowing on the issue says it all. It is phony posturing based only on the fact that a Democrat is in the White House.
And again, why would a right-winger like yourself not want to create jobs? Why would you use such a lame excuse for supporting the repub obstruction of jobs legislation in Congress? Amazing...
Obama's amnesty will add these 11 (to 30) million illegals to the legal labor pools for one. What illegal will want to pick lettuce for $5 an hour when he can get a nice high paying job at Walmart once handed his amnesty and legal status? New illegals will be brought in to do the low paying hard work jobs that no unemployed American or amnestied illegal wants to do.
Liberal elites sure do like their cheap servants after all. And no -- I most definitely thought Bush and McCain were idiots on this issue. Americans need jobs. Welfare handouts don't help enhance a people.
I did not confirm how "liberals" think. I confirmed how most people think, the title was false, own up to it.
Did I make the title?
If you and those of your mindset would bother to look into something before going into hysterics over a title, we might be able to converse intelligently.
Soooo It seems MattOTAlex never answered the question about what he thinks qualifies someone to be president.
Executive branch and leadership experience; Not solely legislative experience.
In the entire history of the United States, only two other Presidents had experience solely in a legislature. The rest had executive branch and/or military leadership experience.
This question doesn't make any sense in a global economy. Unless of course one supports creating artificial economic barriers such as tariffs, and taxpayer subsidized incentives. Either way, Americans (not just AAs) lose in the long run.
I am aware of that RW "global economy" dodge, and here it is yet again.
Oh, and that "artificial" foreign protectionism and market manipulation exists now, to the delight of American "globalist" investors.
Try this - I think that idle, useless, investor-class American globalists should go and live where their factories are, you know, live in the same countries as their indentured child-labor workers. How about that?

Who are you kidding? These are your "preconditions" for Democrats only. You would accept any republicon over any democrat at any time, no?
Seems like quite a disingenuous "fair-and-balanced" opinion on your part.
