I wonder who all those EBT card users voted for... My sense is ... they didn't belong to the 51%... they probably belong to the 49%...

I think liberals are funny... they think the federal government is going to start caring on how they spend other people's money... when did a liberal start caring about how they spent other people's money? that's real funny...

As far as not knowing your balance, come now. If you have only 49 cents left on your card, you know you have received your benefit for the month and have used it, quite expertly if you managed to get it down to such a low balance. To stand in line knowing that you have that low of a balance and trying to buy that much food, you are knowingly and willingly attempting to commit fraud. If you hear over the PA speaker that balances are now showing, you knowingly and willingly were attempting to commit fraud.

Those who were able to "purchase" food should have the amount deducted over a course of a few months in lieu of charges being filed. Those who abandoned carts should be "outed" and publicly shamed. Wal-Mart gets to eat the bill for the spoiled food and extra labor to restock shelves. And the world continues to turn.

Now, who wants to look at the above picture and point out all the junk food in those carts?
We don't know why Walmart let them buy the food with no balance showing.. it could have been hostile when the shoppers couldn't buy food..and the managers got anxious and let them have the food without the balance showing..

I'm sure all of them had something else in common.

If Obama held a family reunion, it would look just like... that thieving crowd at WalMart!

No. I think that Wal Mart has learned a lesson here. A store is not responsible for when there is a glitch in an entitlement.

If I went to Wal Mart with my debit card, and could not process the transaction, I would be turned away, that simple.

That is what should have happened here. Cash is cash....a card that does not work is useless.

Wal Mart assumes the fed will make up the balance. They felt it was win win either way...

I hope the purchases are all denied that were overcharges. Teach Wal Mart a lesson, they eat the money...

Why didn't they just announce that EBT cards would not be accepted until the problem was fixed?

[oh, well...some former Walmart employees will be needing EBT cards for themselves soon]
