What are you trying to say here? I was a steelworker for 35 years and I can tell you that anyone who was drunk on the job faced immediate suspension. Jobs are assigned by seniority and anyone who doesn`t keep up with production is removed from that particular job. His/her co-workers won`t put up with slackers.
Exactly, it's the company that puts up with the slackers-not the union. Numbers don't lie. If the company has a problem with an employee and their production we bring them into the hall and sit them down and find out what their problem is. They may be hurt or having problems at home.
The thing is, the last 20 years our company has allowed slackers and whiners to run rampant without discipline. It's nothing like the old days when we had management with a passion for what we do. Now all they are worried about is their own budgets and career path.
The ONLY thing they are strict about now is injured workers. They will fight a person with a worker's comp claim tooth and nail. It's really become weird.
Why would you think this? If you look at the top donors to political parties since 1986, democratic candidates have actually received more money than republican candidates. Taking the list of major donors (link below) and ignoring those who give very equal money to both parties, this is how much each party has received from the net 140 top donors to political campaigns since 1986.
The democratic party has received more money from corporate interest than the republican party for a few decades now.
If you look more closely, the size of the corporate donations is dependent upon the majority party. Democrats currently in the Senate are getting more corporate donations than Senate Republicans. Whereas, Republicans currently in the House are getting more corporate donations than House Democrats. Whichever party is in the majority, that is the party you can expect to get the lion share of the corporate donations.

Agreed, but that further proves my point that it is pretty stupid to call the republican party the only one in bed with corporations. The democratic party is hardly a group of innocent bleeding hearts looking out for the little man, as people try to argue.

Of course it is stupid, but what do you expect from a partisan shill? Reality is not a strong suit among liberal freaks.
When did this become a question of the legality of unions? I didn't state that unions should be illegal, did I? I merely stated that I don't like unions. For the record, I currently live in a right to work state. However, being a right to work state doesn't mean that unions are illegal, it merely means that they aren't as prevalent.
No. It means that you cannot be forced to join a union. Which is what your original statement was about.
