IMHO, we should expect that people take advantage of "free stuff." People are evil, and they will take advantage of the system because of their naturally lazy nature. The real problem is that the govt. rules either allow for this, or the govt. case managers are not doing their job and verifying the information on their applications. But as others have said, able bodied people should required to work or lose their benefits. Obama changed a lot of those rules, if you remember, and made it easier for the lazy ones.
Lazy is not in a Liberal's vocabulary when it comes to welfare recipients.
All of them are 100% deserving of benifits, through no fault of their own of course.
And the evil, right wing Republicans are just a bunch of heartless, racist pigs who want the poor to starve to death because they believe in means testing and work fare.
Under the new policy, states can now seek a federal waiver from work-participation rules that, among other things, require welfare recipients to engage in one of 12 specific “work activities,” such as job training. But, in exchange, states must develop a plan that would provide a “more efficient or effective means to promote employment,” which may or may not include some or all of the same work activities. States also must submit an “evaluation plan” that includes “performance measures” that must be met — or the waiver could be revoked.

No able bodied person should be able to "live on welfare" It should be limited and even while on it you should be required to give back. Work at the homeless shelter, clean the highways, etc.
Totally agree. In a sense call it workfare. In order to receive benefits require folks to as you said do work at a homeless shelter, or pick up trash on the highways. The positives here is that it will give that person a sense of worth, not to mention it may kick them in the a** and perhaps they'll say "you know what? This type of work sucks, I can do better."
What makes someone like her possible is deficit spending and money printing by the Fed.
It won't last forever. When her EBT card no longer works, she and millions like her will take to the streets looking for food.

I know this. If it does happen and the system crashes, I'll be staying away from the big cities, because they will be the first places to go to hell in a hand basket.
The problem is that the aggregate total of all benefits should NEVER cover all of anyones expenses. You should only qualifiy for a very few benenfits. You should not be permitted to double-dip. If you get Section8, then no SNAP.
The point of our "welfare" system is to provide income for landlords, food stores and Wall-Mart. With out their customers being supported by the government these places would go broke.
Of course a lot of these people vote reliably Republican. If you find someone with 4-5 government checks you have probably found a Republican. Start with the VA Disablity program and go down to SS disability and every other handout you can think of and there will more than likely be a Republican at the end. Forget the projects the Tea Party types are all over the place. They are thankful for direct deposit rather than mail because their mail box would be full of checks.
Boy. You would hate my job. I meet people like this all day long.
And the worst part isn't that. It's not the gloating, either. It's the fact that people insist that I am lying about these people existing and what they will do to scam the system.

All these people love to complain about how these "welfare queens" live better than they do. I have never seen anyone actually give up their job and go on welfare after saying that though. Like they know what they are saying isn't actually true, but that doesn't change their beliefs. Like people who complain germs don't cause disease, but don't drink a vial of salmonella when offered.
