You describe exactly the patriots who stood up against the Brits!
That illiterate mob did real well against the sophisticated and well trained Brits and their erudite intellectual masters.
Wow.
There are about four or five different radical rewrites of history in those two sentences alone.
Somebody has made up an alternative version of the Revolutionary War.
It was the flag of rebellion against the United States of America over the continuation of slavery. It was already a symbol of hatred.
Actually, no. The "Confederate Flag" was never actually the Confederate flag. At best, it was the Battle Flag for General Lee's Army of Northern Virginia.
The actual Confederate flag was the "Stars and Bars." It looked like this:
The reason the "Confederate Flag" that we think of today is widely reviled as a symbol of hatred and bigotry is because, well, that's exactly why it was resurrected from nearly complete obscurity; as a symbol of protest against school desegregation in 1956. This was soon after the SCOTUS decision in Brown vs. The Board of Education, and it started during anti-black protests at the University of Mississippi.
That's the only reason it became popular. It certainly was not all that popular during or soon after the Civil War.
It was not the symbol of slavery. It is a symbol of good old 20th Century racism.

The Flag of the United States is the flag that also fought for the freedom of African Americans. The "confederate flag" to which you defend is not only a flag of treason, but also the symbolic(however incorrectly) embodiment of slavery.
The Southern Heritage argument also makes no sense what so ever. The town i live in was under the Flags of 3 other nations besides the CSA or USA for a combination of 130 years. thats 126 more than the CSA even existed.
Southern heritage my *****
. We both know it wasnt the official flag, but the point still stands, it was a symbol long before the KKK snatched it up.
I would not jump for joy over those numbers, a lot of the opposition to Obamacare is from people who want single payer, or public option and believe it does not go far enough.
This is absolutely outrageous. The Democrats are stealing the Tea Party Gadsden Flag which stands for Medicare, Tricare, and VA for those entitled and trying to apply it to means tested Obamacare. Can you believe the audacity of some people to adopt a symbol that stands for earned entitlements.
Heres the link and you can get your bumper sticker athttp://www.barackobama.com/

Irrelevant, because even the people who favor full blown socialized medicine, can see how absolutely horribly written and executed this laws is.

Equal opportunity disapproval. Obamacare has managed to alienate voters on both sides of the aisle.
