Maybe some guns are mentally ill.

Maybe time to do a factory check.

At least one consistency shines through here:

When a liberal loses an argument, he/she starts ranting hysterically.

If we're looking for behavioral clues indicating who should "be allowed" to have guns and who shouldn't... perhaps this behavior should rank near the top of the list?

Someone calls 911 and says Bob sure seems depressed lately can you have the police check to make sure he is ok, police to to bob's house and knock on door. Bob answers and talks to police. Police ask if he is ok, bob says he is, just working through some things in his life, maybe is dog died or something, police say ok and hand him a couple of pamphlets with information about how to get help and leave.
Well you need evidence of a criminal act or plot to get a warrant.

Of course all they had to do, if they had gotten a bad vibe from him, was say they caught the smell of marijuana in the house, and there was a warrant.

The point is, its hard to find mental illness, because not everyone who is mentally ill is a threat.

Or maybe lightning hits the person with the gun who is trying to stop the person with the knife, probably best we don't let anyone have a gun because they might get struck by lightening and all.

They wanted to find him another therapist, but he refused. Parents stopped trying I guess.

Like I said no accountability. It is just stupid.

So you want police to lie and illegally search people's premises? Really?

The simple fact is besides very rare cases we cannot predict what someone will do in the future. From this you either believe that people should be free and deal with cases where someone snaps or people should not and everyone who looks funny should be locked up and medicated against their will just in case.

You can only buy a gun legally in your home state.
Any licensed vendor at a gun show must perform a background check.

Not at all, I'm saying that they do that all the time already though.

What are you trying to say really? If I knew somebody was dangerous, I reported them to the authorities. Period.
