Don't tell them that! You'll have them climaxing in the office.

Most of them would love living in North Korea... or even under someone like Pol Pot.

Guns are a public threat, gun control works as evidenced by other industrialized countries such as Germany, Japan, Australia, Canada the UK and many, many others. Gun control works.

Pick one: Liars or nutjobs.
Yep. Exactly right.

Logic. Statistics. Reason. None of these work when talking to a gun control advocate because to hold such an opinion is to be lacking in the ability to use these three. Pandora's Box was opened many, many years ago. At this point, to close it will only make things worse. You will never get rid of guns any more than you will get rid of cars... which by the way, kill far more people (and yes, Virginia, as with guns, they do this of their own accord).

The OP is insane.

I would provide links to debunk it, but that has already been done.

I love the poster who said "Some big cities have higher crime rates than WHOLE countries!" No crap? You are comparing a city with very high concentrations of people to an average that includes cities and rural areas. When you look at a whole country the crime rate will almost invariably be higher in the cities that are contained within the borders of said country... the rural areas drag the average down. This is why you don't compare apples to oranges, or cities to countries. Maybe this concept would make sense if the whole country had the same population density as the cities in question, but I am guessing it is insanely lower.

Seriously, what is the population density of NYC compared to the population density of say Australia, Poland, or even the United States?

Now, I may be a supporter of gun rights, but can y'all separate me in your minds from the filthy, racist, homophobic neocons that have been posting in favor of gun rights? Their thoughts are ill-informed and their thinking process is badly out-dated.

That's 11,268 people killed or injured vs just 331 instances of defensive gun use in the whole damn country. It's a completely different scale.

I can make the same case for "gay marriage" or "obamacare".

You don't have to shoot someone to use a gun to defend yourself.
Good job.

How many people's lives are saved through defensive driving versus those killed by offensive driving?

Defensively...

Or has he been seized with an uncontrollable urge to "address other threads", leaving him unable to reply here?

Since you're digging into the statistics, figure out how many of those guns were purchased through the normal legal channels and how many of those would have been prevented by any of the plans proposed. The only "gun control" effort that would stop these is "stop and frisk."
