I think the Intelligence folks and the administration don't want people all over the world to know what was really going on at that embassy which is why help wasn't sent in the first place not for some inhumane or incompetence reason related to rescue but rather to keep the embassy goings on (whatever they were) hush hush. They made the cover-up too complicated. If they would have said they failed to protect their people, the whole thing would have probably been over in a week.

Just keep repeating the lie, no matter how often it is debunked, even by the Republicans who issued the report.

If you believe that, you have been sleeping for the last six years. There is nothing the administration could have said that would have appeased the rabid dogs in the House who are hellbent on a kill, facts be damned. The bipartisan committee, headed up by a Republican, has answered all the relevant questions, but the conclusions they came to aren't the conclusions the far right want, so on we go, ad nauseam.
The House Republicans continue to behave like toddlers throwing a tantrum because they don't get what they want.
Weren't the people who issued the (nothing here to see folks, move along) report on the Intelligence Committee?
Who started this thread, who started almost every other thread on the topic impeachment, who posts here saying he needs to be removed from office? Welcome to reality
They say you only read the news that's consistent with your ideological leaning. I'm not surprised this thread will die quickly on this forum.
Yes, it will. And come September, when Gowdy starts a whole new round of hearings, there will be threads galore started by the right, falling all over themselves to report every syllable uttered. There will probably end up being a sticky thread at the top because the forum won't be able to contain them all. And the right will completely ignore this bipartisan House report as if it never existed.
They have a $3.3 million budget and, damn it, they are going to spend every penny of it on their circus. But always remember, they are the party of fiscal responsibility.
I think the Democrats should demand offsets for this waste of taxpayer dollars, and every single offset should all come from red states. They want a circus, they should have to pay for it.
The House Intelligence Committee, led by Republicans, has concluded that there was no deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama administration in the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, said Rep. Mike Thompson of St. Helena, the second-ranking Democrat on the committee.
Thompson said the report "confirms that no one was deliberately misled, no military assets were withheld and no stand-down order (to U.S. forces) was given.
Meanwhile, the GOP House leadership has given the House Committee on Benghazi $3.3 million of our taxpayer dollars so they can continue the "investigation." Hearings resume in September. Because, you know, there's nothing of importance happening in the country that needs their attention.
This is what gerrymandered districts gets us. We have at least two more years of this nonsense.
It is time for the House GOP to fire some committee aides and get some real "Hitler" Youth who will blindly follow Darrel Issa's orders.

There was no help within reach once the attack had begun.
"Washington (CNN) -- An investigative report prepared by the House Intelligence Committee finds little to support questions raised about CIA actions on the ground in Benghazi, Libya, the night of a deadly 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound.
The final report, from Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Michigan, and ranking member Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Maryland, concludes there was no intelligence failure prior to the attack, no stand-down order to CIA operatives trying to go assist at the besieged consular building and found conflicting intelligence in the wake of the attack about the motive and cause, which were reflected in early public comments by the administration."
