Why do people always bring up Jenny McCarthy's name when talking about vaccines? My views on vaccines have absolutely zero to do with a celebrity's opinion. They never have and they never will. I have my own brain and I use it.
Nobody, said anything about a conspiracy. Vaccines are ongoing repeat business. Profits to be gleaned from many other drugs can require more in cost and liability and can have a shorter window to maximize those returns. Claiming that TNCs like Merck make no money off of vaccines is ridiculous.
According to 2013 figures just the top 5 vaccine sellers made more than what you are claiming. About 21-22 billion. The top 5 vaccine makers by 2013 revenue
quote: Last year, the global vaccines market topped $25.56 billion according to EvaluatePharma, with the world's 6 top-selling shots each cracking the blockbuster barrier. The Expanding Vaccine Market
quote:
Vaccines continue to be one of the brighter spots for pharmaceutical companies in the current market, and revenues for vaccine products are expected to continue their double-digit growth in the future. Driving that growth is an increasing acceptance of adult vaccines and the public health focus on flu prevention, as well as introductions of new vaccines. Improved production techniques will also play a role in enabling the products to come to market.
...
Most vaccine revenues are earned by five companies: Sanofi Pasteur, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck & Co., Pfizer, and Novartis. They held nearly 80% of the market as of 2010. All of these companies have seen growth in their vaccine business.
We can pay for the vaccines or we can pay to treat the illnesses that vaccines prevent. In addition, there is a cost in lost wages and productivity for those who are ill or who must be out of work to care for a sick child. For any vaccine, the money saved by vaccinating can be calculated. For MMR:
"Our study shows that the current 2-dose MMR vaccination program results in substantial cost savings (∼$3.5 billion and ∼$7.6 billion from the direct cost and societal perspectives, respectively) and high BC ratios: For every dollar spent, the program saves >$14 of direct costs and >$10 of additional costs to society. Because of the success of the 2-dose vaccination program, measles, mumps, and rubella are no longer major health threats in the United States. Although not reflected in this analysis and difficult to quantify, the dramatic decrease in pain and suffering to family and friends of the patient with measles, mumps, or rubella is a direct result of the achievement."
Would you be willing to invest in something that paid you $24 for every $1 invested?

As an individual, you have no say in the fray of attention deficited players, who are united.
The scrambled are scrambling for more scramble.
They are cheesy, and they are dedicated.
Here is your brain; here is your brain on aluminum.
The education system has been thoroughly vaccinated.
Sure its good to always question the source. Its just so darn funny to see someone do it and then turn around and embrace everything their government tells them.
Exactly, the CDC and WHO are nothing but.... in the business of genocide!
90% of the cases in unvaccinated individuals, which surprises - well, no one, really.
