Does these restrictions just apply to the city of Dallas or the 26 cities of the Metroplex and all 7 million of us ?
I was not the poster who suggested we need to prevent all people from flying out of Dallas.

I tend to believe in the international freedom of people to travel.

Did anyone think these people were in forced isolation/quarantine somewhere, once their Ebola shift was complete?

If a healthcare worker was treating a viral filled ebola patient, then upon their rounds would you want that nurse touching you in the hospital?

Both nurses dealt with Duncan's body fluids directly and weren't even wearing BSL4 protection.
You bet they should have isolated them and watch them for 21 days.

They had direct contact with a highly contagious Ebola patient and didn't even have the right protection on.

But if we continue to let in people from West Africa, they will lie about their contacts with Ebola and can infect more in the future. It happened once , and the probability it will happen again .
Is that West African National more likely to have Ebola than anyone else traveling from that region and disbursing into the general global population?

Known proximity to the body fluids of someone in the latter stages of Ebola?

I don't believe the general population of the world wants to visit the infected regions. The nurses and doctors are going there to treat Ebola and will probably quarantine themselves for risk of infecting others if they decide to leave..

Duncan lied and said he had no contact with Ebola infected people.

Would they have gone ahead and had this conference if the visas had been granted?

Maybe....just maybe....somebody is finally beginning to sort of take notice that we might need to do something. There should not be a "delay." They should not be issuing visas from these countries to start with at this time.
I previously posted that some Liberian media sites have been talking about observed delays associated with US Visas going back to some point in August. Specifically, it is necessary for a Liberian National to make application for a Visa, pay a fee, and then be scheduled for an interview at the US embassy. Reportedly, those with interview appointments would show up and the embassy would tell them their appointment had been cancelled. It was a " don't call us, we'll call you" sort of thing.

There was some speculation within the reader comments that the US was not officially announcing a temporary suspension of all US visas so as to allow the embassy to cherry pick.

Reportedly, Duncan's visa had been approved in early August, about a month before he traveled to the US via Brussels. T
