Hopefully the viral load of the nurse didn't infect anyone else. A virus is very small. It is much smaller than bacteria . If this woman had some viral load and sneezed I don't know if she could infect someone. I know the CDC said if one comes in contact with an infected Ebola person within three feet and that infected person has droplets coming out in a sneeze or cough they can infect that person within three feet.
This is actually a real time event which we can see if the air in an airplane can serve as a vector.
Texas said they did not need help. At the news conference everyone from Gov. Perry to the head of Texas health to the hospital boss said they knew what to do and had the situation under control. This is a major hospital in a major metro area. It is perfectly reasonable that CDC would be confident enough to defer to local authorities to handle it.
The nurses said weeks ago they were not ready.. did anyone listen? NO
Obama says "he is confident" that the odds are "extraordinarily low" of widespread Ebola outbreak here in the states...
Yeah, and you can keep your doctor if you want to.
When will Obama learn his word means nothing? The majority of Americans have completely lost faith in him and put very little stock in his promises.
His refusal to take the absolutely necessary step of blocking travel to and from the affected areas is astounding.
The Obama administration couldn't contain a quadriplegic to the deep end of a swimming pool. Our only real hope now is that this strain of ebola really is as difficult to spread as they have been saying.
This is an inside story from some registered nurses at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas who have familiarity with what occurred at the hospital following the positive Ebola infection of first the late Thomas Eric Duncan and then a registered nurse who cared for him Nina Pham.
The RNs contacted National Nurses United out of frustration with a lack of training and preparation.
Quite an interesting read as are the comments that follow the article.
The nurses union said they have requested this, but all the CDC will do is encourage nurses to look at the CDC website.
So while Obama is assuring us not to worry, the government has this completely under control, all they are actually doing is putting some info on a website. That's why the nurses are so upset.
Most hospitals likely did not give Ebola serious consideration , until Duncan, 17 days ago.
As these things go, there was a likely a collective failure to imagine that a non symptomatic tourist would enter the US , present in an ER.......

Highly doubtful. The potential for widespread panic and civil unrest is very real, so they're going to say whatever they think they need to to prevent that from happening.
When/where did CDC make this statement as it relates to Ebola?
Why then was Duncan given an entire floor?
Not everything the CDC gave healthcare workers is available on their website.
And not everything the CDC gave the healthcare workers was said to the press.
AKRON, Ohio -- Dallas nurse Amber Joy Vinson spent last weekend in Tallmadge, an Akron suburb, before testing positive for the Ebola virus.
Summit County Public Health officials are still trying to determine who Vinson may have seen and where she went while she was visiting family. A family member has already self-quarantined himself in a Tallmadge home following Vinson's positive test.
Seeds of doubt people. It's all in the back of your minds. Yes even you uber liberals have that little voice in the back of your head talking to you eventhough you will post nothing but your un-dying(?) support for this administration's leaders and it's failure of a POTUS.
Actually many liberals, as well as many Americans, wish we had a Surgeon General to take charge of the efforts nationally.
Unfortunately, due mainly to the efforts of the NRA, we don't have one. The NRA didn't like that physicians view guns as a threat to one's health.
"Currently the U.S. does not have a permanent surgeon general. President Barack Obama nominated Dr. Vivek Murthy to fill the spot last November after the previous surgeon general vacated the position.
Murthy's nomination has been tied up in the Senate since March amid concerns from conservative, gun rights group, the National Rifle Association, that the Harvard and Yale educated doctor would seek to implement restrictions on the Second Amendment if he were confirmed for the position."
Apparently, more funds are needed for protective equipment necessary for containment. But Congress is on yet another vacation, so money cannot be allotted.
