Your point about all politics starting locally is so strategic as be predator-like in accuracy and stealth. The dems have no idea what the seeds being grown locally will reap in the next 10 years. Like a tsunami it does not appear as deadly as it actually will be.

Take a peek if you dare.

Republicans now have historic majorities in state legislatures. That's a really big deal. - Vox

They now hold the BIGGEST majority in the last 80+ years.

Yes, turning "blue" all over the place, I see.

Control of State legislatures, lock, stock and barrel;

That's 29 states we control. Right to Work, Voter ID laws, PSE union busting time (ala Walker), etc, etc, etc.

Maybe OP wants to revise?

The US is not headed towards the left, it's headed towards a complete merger of corporate and political power, AKA fascism.

Obama wasn't a socialist, he was perceived that way because America thinks anything to the right of corporate tyranny is socialism.

The good news is that 2 years of GOP majority might just be enough to wake people up.

They are more concerned with what affects their wallet, over being concerned with who does or doesn't allow access to abortion.
I dont believe that at all...

Now you not only think you know who my kids friends are, but now what I believe..

Most of the country trends left on issues when you take out the politically charged words/terms and ask about the specifics. Topics on state ballots that were passed by voters support that.

The country that voted to give the Senate back to conservative Republicans also voted for more marijuana, fewer abortion restrictions, higher minimum wages, and more gambling.

Cognitive dissonance indeed.

The Democrat party just cast Old Mary adrift.
They just pulled over $2 million in advertising.
She has no chance and they don't wanna waste any more money on her.

Weeeell, it is good to see that the bread & circus game is still functioning.

Now how about we change this country for the better and get rid of both of these tacky parties owned by billionaires?

I, for one, would like to see your proof that most of the country trends left.

You haven't gotten your updated talking points yet or you copy of the latest election results.

How do you figure, socially? If you're talking gay marriage, the COURTS have decided it is lawful. Other than that, 31 states have put it to a vote and each and every time, the VOTERS banned gay marriage.

On abortion, the MAJORITY believes abortion should be illegal in all cases except rape, incest.

The gun-grabbers were DEFEATED across the country, their backers (bloomberg) spending millions on a lost cause.

These are all social issues, where the trend is NOT to the Left. What issue you talking about?
