No. I vote for presidents who use the word of God as their moral compass. I do not want another president who pushes for abortion, drugs, gay marriage or torture.
Yes. I wouldn't want to vote for someone who needs myth and superstition for his moral compass.
(Name me one president who actually PUSHED for abortion. Just one.)
Yessir! THAT is exactly why I could not and would not EVER vote for a follower of Mohammed.
For ANY office!
But then, could a Muslim honestly take the Oath Of Office?
Yes. I would vote for whoever's deck is stacked mainly like my own. I might be more apt to vote for an atheist, assuming that they would let religion step in where a different compass is needed but in general I have no issue with a religious president. They would judge gay marriage on their interpretation of a text but on whether it is an issue of equal rights. I'd want one who really understands that out is not their place top judge certain things when they do not infringe on the rights of others.
So you're saying Jewish people don't believe in peace, love, or forgiveness?
Some do, but it's not on their religious text. I don't see that happening in Israel either. Jews can hold public office, but not for president because people will think we are a "Jewish country".

Yes. You can actually swear on a book of your choosing. John Quincy Adams and Roosevelt did not use a bible.

I don't see where ANYBODY said anything like that!
I am constantly amazed at the "reading between the lines" that takes place on these forums.
Too many people seem to be totally unaware that there is nothing between the lines but empty space.
Most of us try to say what we mean, and mean what we say!
