Yes. That about sums it up, I suppose. American culture in the 50s was not so totally dominant and homogeneous like it is today, though. Even here, we had some uniqueness. Cuba is in a kind of time warp. I wonder how long it will take for US buyers to grab up all those 50s cars.

Hopefully they will continue to disallow the export of those cars. It would be an interesting place to visit.

This is my hope too. I don't want Americans to start looting the island, and I think the Cuban government should ban American land ownership (actually all foreign land ownership) but perhaps allow only foreign investment.

Cuba shouldn't return back to its pre 1959 semi colonial status, which is exactly what caused revolution in the first place.
