They've been doing this sort of thing for decades. The NYC police union has a long history of bullying City Hall – Quartz

I realize cops have a difficult job and we have LE in my family. However, if the police don't respect civilian authority and can't take criticism, you've got a recipe for a police state.
This is just the way many in the NYPD act when they think they don't get their way. Being the largest police department, they seem to think they should be able to act however they want with no criticism, and then act like spoiled children when they are criticized.

The NYPD's dream mayor would be one that never questioned anything they do.

Its typical union thuggish behavior, urbanlife, which is the reason I "always look for the non-union label".

If this was done w/ the support of the officer's family, I would defer to their wishes.

A funeral is the wrong place to make a political statement, it wasn't organized but they should not be putting themselves above the moment. Since they did this to a TV Screen it was even more senseless since De Blasio was inside and did not see them, senseless.

If that's the case than they never should have taken the JOB. That is what being a police officer is it's a JOB much like I don't expect to be thanked by my foreman everytime i install a receptacle or do a pipe run. They know what they are getting into when they go into the academy if they didn't want to risk their life than go in as a clerk instead.

Like Bloomberg THEY LOVED BLOOMBERG especially his unwavering support when they were macing and beating OWS protesters which many on here also cheered the same one's who are calling the protesters thugs now.

No, they should not be disciplined. It should be known that they are douches, though.
