I resent having to present an official piece of paper to obtain my ballot. I am willing and do state my name and address out loud in the public polling place to the voting official. I resent the assumption that I am lying about who I am. That is a presumption of guilt and damaging to our basic liberties.

I believe that is sufficient. Requiring printed identification is an added burden on potential voters that may not have the means and time to be certified. The requirement is designed to reduce voter turnout and is not necessary and an infringement on a person's dignity.

Yup. The poll worker was willing to give this man a ballot and allow him to vote under Eric Holder's name. Imagine if the man went through with this and Holder later showed up to vote only to be told that he voted already

Oh the irony!

It's simple---libs fear voter ID laws because these laws mean that illegals and dead people can't vote.

I guess all the posters here bending over backwards to defend not having to show voter ID to vote won't mind if their next door neighbor goes to the polls and gives your name. Then when you go to vote, well...too bad! You voted already
Yes and if the young white convicted criminal signed for it they could have had him arrested.

Dead and illegals don't need to show up. They vote by absentee ballot..

Because they count on people who don't have id cards to vote for Democrats. Which is pathetic, but there it is.

Expecting people in a developed country in 2014 to have a photo id is a "burden?" Paaaaaathetic.

I have no problem with voter ID laws. There should only be two requirements to get it: are you 18 and are you a citizen. If you can prove both, you get it for free. Nothing else should be asked or impose on their ability to get an ID. They don't need to be employed, they could have a criminal record, they can be illiterate, etc. Voting is a protected right. Mucking it up with excess laws is unreasonable. Keep it simple and to the point.

Did you read my post (#109) and watch the video?

So, it wouldn't bother you if your next door neighbor gave the poll worker your name and address then voted? Later on, when you go to vote, you get told that you voted already---and that's fine with you.

Yeah, yeah---I know---that doesn't happen much at all (that we know of). Yet, I'm sure those that have been told they voted already when, in fact, they didn't sure don't appreciate it when it happens to them.

Resent it all you like, but what else will separate you from those who are not entitled to vote the issues that affect you?

Because it keeps the illegal aliens from inflating the voter roll call.

Dumb thread. You need ID to buy alcohol, get a driver's license, get on a plane, cash a check, check into a hotel etc. Don't tell me minorities don't have I.d. How do the winos and others get their alchol?

Voter ID is needed to keep the unregistered voters from voting. The Democrats know they also need them to win!
