I'm unarmed. I sold my .45 and shotgun 2 years ago. I have a ccw and I don't carry.
So why should I trust those who may have a ccw? Because the applied, tested, and passed the state requirements. Matter of fact I know (I went back and counted) 18 people with ccw. 5 routinely carry (work in rough areas), 9 don't, and 4 of us don't even own a firearm.
And you're sure they'll all stay rational and stable?
So many "how dare you!" and "I'll do what I damn well please" posts already.
Tell me, if you were the unarmed person, why would you trust the armed people in the room?
it depends on the feelings i get from them. if i feel someone is ready to break, then no i wont trust them with a firearm, and i will keep an eye on them. on the other hand if i feel there is nothing wrong with the person, then yes i will trust them.

Are you comfortable with armed persons drinking in a bar? Or drinking at a baseball game? How about in heavy traffic, slow and no-go on a hot July day? I was in LA during the road rage shootings. I carried a gun when directed to do so by the US government, otherwise there was no need.
To keep down some of the inevitable posts by knee-jerk folks, I have been an owner and a shoot since 1965. I'm retired Navy with a good deal of trigger time. I still shoot at a local range, as does my wife. Now, I hope we can carry on...
It's a simple question: How do I know I can trust you with that gun you're carrying?
Maybe you shouldn't and that's why you should carry. Don't make it personal, just think about it from anyone's perspective. Why should I trust you with a firearm at all, well I probably shouldn't, I have to accept responsibility for my own self.
I do believe in some firearm restrictions, but as long as people are permitted and have gone through background checks, I have no problem with concealed or open carry. I am also not opposed to a Federal database with the FBI. I know, I know, it's crazy to be both for guns and for some restrictions, but that's where I stand.

whether i am comfortable or not it doesnt matter. if they can legally carry a firearm in those situations, there is nothing i can do but be on my toes in case something breaks out and i need to respond.
once again i remind you as a trained observer, that situational awareness in paramount at all times. i am betting they taught you that in the military, and you have either forgotten or ignored what you were taught.
Good point. But I'm not armed, so an armed person has an unequal advantage at range.
Easy one, arm yourself.
