Sorry to break the bubble but even 1/2 of 1% of the number of women assaulted dwarfs the total number of transgenders claiming to have been assaulted.

Some serious perspective on this issue is needed.
Absolutely! I agree completely. But instead of treating transfolk as bogey men (and women lol)...let's put our focus where it should be. On certain straight men who can't seem to keep their hands (and other parts) to themselves.

I feel like I need to state that I don't think all men are bad. Not even most. All of the men in my life have been wonderful. But some, for whatever reason cant seem to keep it together. We need to put a lot of attention on that.

Like I've said throughout this thread, I prefer a single stall bathroom, I dig that idea very much. Hopefully companies will catch on and build more of those. I want to keep other women and especially children as safe as possible, as I am sure you do as well.

The problem with single stall restrooms is the huge hooplah that women needed more time tonuse the facilities and thus womens restrooms needed to be more numerous or larger? Remember that?

However, single stalls do afford everyone more privacy as it should be, not for transgenders or gays or lesbians but for everyone. Making single stalls a political stayement though is the height of self serving interests.

A big part of the boogey man thing is that the people who don't want undo attention are the very ones making the most noise about it.

Recently, it was in vogue to announce one was the first gay this or that. If equality is the goal then perhaps cease calling attention to differences would help.

Now its transgender and some parents are considering conversion therapies for children as young as 5 years old. Its those examples that bring out the boogey man issues.

How does someone who can't see tell if a person is transgender? The LGBT community announces it with a megaphone.

Why not just put some port-a-johns in the parking lot? Those are already "single stall".

We quit shopping at Target a long time ago. They can do what they want. My wife worked at Target for a short time in the 80's (seems it was about six months) as Assistant Store Manager. She walked out .Horrible company to work for. Her brother also worked for Target roughly at the same time. He was a Store Manager (L.A. area). He phoned his boss one day and said, "I'm vacating the premises. The keys are on the desk. You'd better get someone over here!" LOL Now her brother had worked previously as store manager in several other chains, including Toy's R Us, and once had worked at Magic Mountain, where he was in charge of all the concessions. He was no dummy. He had been recruited for the position at Target ...he wasn't looking for a job. Bob never had to look for a job.
