One of her friends was a dark-skinned Puerto Rican, and he couldn't find a teaching job with the group of schools she worked for even though there were openings.
I've tried getting jobs teaching English in China, Japan, and South Korea. I would never get replies back. After a while I gave up. I wondered if me being a Black male had anything to do with it.

Wouldn't surprise me.

It probably did, I am sorry to say.

I do know a dark-skinned guy who just moved to Hong Kong to teach, though. Hong Kong is different, more cosmopolitan. This guy is actually a card-carrying member of a small band of Cherokee who were relocated to NJ at the time of the Trail of Tears (The Sand Hill Indians), but he is dark-skinned and obviously has AA ancestry, as well. If you are still interested in living in Asia, you might want to look at HK.

That's not what happened even in the legendary 1921 race riot. It started after a black male assaulted a white female in the white neighborhood and armed black militants confronting whites at the courthouse and it snowballed over the day from there. Another example of scapegoating and creating an urban legend..

Assault or not it doesn't take away from white supremacy destroying black communities once they were too prosperous.

The assault and confrontation is why it happened. They destroyed the neighborhood because they felt it was a physical threat and didn't want encroachment into their neighborhood.

so taking the assault that one member did out on everyone else. That's the way to go (sarcasm).

Didn't say it was the way to go but it was armed black militants and whites clashing at the courthouse over the assault that set off the riot, not "black wallstreet" vs "white supremacy".
