Remember that the first illegal alliens were the "anglos" when Texas was part of us. They betrayed our conditions of living in Mexico when we opened our bourders to white-anglos.

Yeah! It is just karma bro!
The 1st "white" illegal aliens were Hispanics who beat up the Aztecs and so on in what's now Mexico.

Those people are all dead now on both sides so how is that karma for those of us alive today? Anglos as you put it were never illegals in Texas. As for the white race, your Spanish ancestors were white also and they conquered the Ameridians. Mexico lost certain southwest territories in a war and turned over those land to the U.S. under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildago and the U.S. paid Mexico $15 million for them. What does any of this have to do with Mexico and you Mexicans hundreds of years later? Trying to justify illegal immigration into the U.S. today? Sorry, it doesn't fly. Try again.

Only 2% of illegals are picking crops and there are unlimited visas for "legal" foreign crop pickers. It's not a career job for Americans and is only seasonal work. No one is claiming that crop picking jobs were stolen from Americans. However, cheap illegals have taken jobs that Americans used to do for a fair wage such as construction, commercial landscaping jobs, etc. Try again! Big fail!

The laws changed but it's very specific as to wher you can own property. According to Mexican law, foreigners are prohibited from owning land within 31 miles of the coastline or 62 miles from an international border. those areas are called restricted zones. In order to own in those restricted areas you had to enter into a special partnership with a Mexican bank, which gets to hold the title to the property in renewable 50-year trusts.
So while you do own it you are limited.

Indeed! It would amount to a little short term pain in exchange for learning a very valuable and hopefully long term lesson.

Maybe Ford executives woke up and realized that despite cheap Mexican labor everything else about Mexico is bad for business.

All these leftist globalists do not understand that these cheap labor, 3rd world hell holes do not provide any safeguards for business like the US, Britain and Canada. I'd love to see these countries like Mexico, Vietnam, Malaysia and so forth morph into full on dictatorships like Iran or Cuba and then expropriate all the corporate assets. Globalist executives are like toddlers hanging around a hot stove. They don't learn their lesson until they get burned.

There is nothing "leftist" about neoliberal capitalism you fight against.

1) Not doing it now doesn't mean not doing it forever. Delaying the move for four years will cost less than the total discounted cash flow of doing it over all time, and gets them out of the administration's cross hairs.

2) Trump may have privately told them he and Ryan were going to do a corporate cash onshoring holiday or corporate tax reform. Right now, an American corporation makes money in other parts of the world, it's only taxed when it is returned to the U.S. but when it is, is taxed at a very high rate. As a result, there are huge tax savings to use money in Ford's foreign subsidiaries to build a factory in Mexico and then import the cars under NAFTA. This brings the cash back indirectly and generates massive tax savings. If Trump told them they could expect the tax rules to change, that would drastically change the math of the investment, to the point where getting rid of it isn't so painful or maybe it doesn't even make sense at all any more.
