All the put-downs, the attempts to dismiss them, those are the words of people who feel threatened, and respond by trying to ridicule others. Citing actors and Madonna is just an attempt to ignore that MILLIONS of women marched. Guilt by association is just a smear tactic.
Here I go again.....I support marches. I support protests. I believe even that there comes a point to where people need to start breaking things to get their point heard.
That said I brought my problem with this up last night and not a one would address it. I am told that millions of women around the world protested in support.
Where were these women the last eight years as we bombed women out of their homes killing thousands of them along with their children?
Women around the world were not marching in solidarity because some stupid oaf says stupid things. Women around the world only wish this was their problems.
All the put-downs, the attempts to dismiss them, those are the words of people who feel threatened, and respond by trying to ridicule others.
Apparently, that includes transgenders and Blacks, who USED to be in the Dem/lefty camp.
Totally botched effort. Poorly conceived, badly planned, and incompetently executed. Everyone knows this was nothing more than a sexist, bigoted, self-indulgent 'Look at me! Look at me!' photos posted on facebook narcissistic temper tantrum march.
No. She literally wanted to get poor black women birth control to depopulate a race that she did not like. That was one of the founding principles of Planned Parenthood.
Product of their time? Racism, homophobia, sexism still exist in 2017 as they did in 1917. How do you excuse that and just dismiss it?
It's always funny when people like you cherry-pick facts to only view them in a manner which supports your cause.
We still hold slave holders in pretty high regard. We enact monuments in their honor.
And the people who are criticizing them, who are trying to belittle those who marched, seem to be threatened by that power.
Stop, stop, stop with this 'power' or 'bravery' stuff. It doesn't take 'power' to show up at a march. Bravery ? Geez, were they facing down Bull Connor, water hoses, the Pinkertons at a labor strike, tanks ?
As for 'power,' we'll see. Do you have any measures of how much power the march had ?
I know they collectively wasted at least tens of millions of $$$ on a narcissistic temper tantrum march that even transgenders and Blacks are condemning as sexist and bigoted.
All I can say is thank goodness I am secure enough in myself to be proud that none of the speakers at the march in DC spoke for me. I don't need to march on Washington in order to appreciate my life and opportunities as a female living in the United States for the past 55 years. I don't need Madonna speaking for me.
And Hillary enabling her sexual predator of a husband for decades does not represent who I am as a woman.
Trump doesn't represent my values either.
But as long as no one gets in my way, they're all free to make fools of themselves all they want, I guess.
Why are people so self centered that they assume speakers at an event they didn't attend were speaking for them?
Speak for yourself and allow others the privilege of doing the same.
Of course, that privilege exists precisely because of those that spoke out before you.
I wonder if it was possible for women to be bank managers prior to 1960, or to have their own FICO scores, even if they are above 800?
Or to get their own mortgage, be someone else's POA, get a no fault divorce, prosecute domestic violence?
I'm glad YOU didn't need to march for the lifestyle you, at 55 enjoy - which is just barely scraping by the era when those things would be out of reach for you.
I'm not a women and i know many of us here are not women, we have no clue how some women feel about the results of this election but we really shouldn't ignore and talk down the large amount of women who are afraid.
Calling them a bunch of femanazi, triggerd sjw's and crybabies isn't getting us anywhere.
Reach out and talk to them and let them know you have their back if you really care.
The men and women who marched were secure enough in themselves to speak out on issues that are important to them. They didn't march in order to appreciate their lives and opportunities. They marched to ensure that the opportunities for their children will be even greater. They didn't need Madonna to speak for them, they allowed Madonna to speak. The marches across our country were a demonstration of power.
And the people who are criticizing them, who are trying to belittle those who marched, seem to be threatened by that power.
I'm not threatened by any of the marchers. I feel no threat whatsoever from any of them or the speakers. As a strong, independent woman, who loves being a woman by the way, I do feel disgusted by many of the vulgarities and hypocrisies I saw though.
