If anyone tells you it's a more tightly controlled border than your southern one; "they're lying".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guatem...3Mexico_border

Most of it is jungle and river scape with no border markings at all. Stories you've heard of a wall are "fake news."

Mexico-Guatemala Border Wall

Mexico is relatively unconcerned about illegal "human" traffic across that border because they are aware those are just "passing through" on their way to the U.S.

No, a nice roll of barbed wire at the top will not take care of that.

A pair of wire cutters and you're good to go.

If you doubt me, ask your Mensa group about this.

No it's not ridiculous and I already explained why in another post.

Exactly.

Up the penalties and sanctions on employers and a good percentage of the problem is solved.

You got to ask yourself why no one in Trump's administration is advocating for this.

Years ago, I knew a Mexican guy who had been deported 3 times. A week later, each time, he was right back here, and back to work. Last I knew of him, he had his own company, owned a home, and was paying taxes and employing others. He wasn't coming here to " murder, rape, or sell drugs," he was coming here for a better life for him and his family.

Anyone who thinks this wall is an absolute solution needs to drive out to that area and look at what it looks like. NO wall could stop people from getting over, if they really wanted to come in. It is just something Donald Trump dreamed up in his head to make his cult think he had some great solution to a non existent problem.
Exactly.

While the wall may help control the border in places where there is a lot of foot traffic, say around Tijuana, to think that it is going to work out in the middle of nowhere is ridiculous.

It's like privatized prisons. It's a way for contractors to make money and for the wealthy to continue to work people like slaves while claiming they are doing something.

It's a scam. I'm surprised people are dimwitted enough to fall for it.

Just remember the Emperor wants to spend more money on this than NASA.

This is stupid stuff.

Americans just need to STOP HIRING THEM!
Exactly.

Used to lunch with a rather wealthy woman who said she preferred to hire undocumented folks. They were hard workers, never asked for a day off, and didn't give her any guff.

Isn't it though?

The wall advocates are the ones who have a vested interest in illegal immigration.

That way they can claim they are doing something by spending a big bunch of our money while still employing their undocumented housekeepers, nannies, gardeners, chicken pluckers, slaughterhouse workers, roofers, landscapers... at slave labor wages.

4. Cooperation from immigrants, i.e., obeying immigration laws, working, paying taxes, and staying out of jail.

I disagree with #3. It's a slap in the face to immigrants who came here legally, it would negate our sane annual quotas for legal immigration for years to come, Americans needs their jobs back and it was proven in 1986 that amnesty just encourages more illegals to come here.

Paying taxes does not excuse anyone for breaking the law. We already have numerous guest worker programs and we have millions of Americans out of work.
