No matter what solution is agreed upon, your lettuce is going to cost $3.00 a head when it happens.
Utter nonsense! Only 2% of illegals are picking crops and for those jobs there are unlimited visas for legal, foreign workers. Those who use illegal aliens only pocket the profits from them they don't pass any savings on to the consumer.
What is the plan for all the land that's privately owned? That could tie them up in court for years.
Took serious years, litigation and money to bring most of the Eminent Domain/ Condemination associated with the Secure Fence Act of the Bush Admin to a conclusion. That partial wall contains miles of gaps to accommodate those with political clout, a university, country clubs, resorts, HOAs and ranches.

Then it does. The problem has never been that there are no Americans willing to do a job, it's that no Americans are willing to do particular jobs at the wage being offered. One way or another lettuce costs more than the current price tag at the grocery, it's a matter of where we write the check - either we can pay $3 for the lettuce using legal workers or we can pay $1.59 for lettuce, extra $2,700 x 3/year (average extra educational cost for illegal immigrants times the average 3 kids), extra $4K/year in food stamps for them, and whatever uncovered medical costs, PLUS whatever funds we are putting out for the safety net programs of the Americans not employed to do the job. Currently America is subsidizing everyone's lettuce to the same level, get rid of the deflated wages and I'll be paying for my own lettuce and those that can't afford it will be the only ones subsidized. Illegal immigrants financially help the well-to-do maintaine a higher standard of living and hurts those who are economically vulnerable.

Yep, one and the same.

Doubtful. It wouldn't be that hard to put a guest farm-worker program together.
We need:
1. Strong border security
2. E-verify, and sanctions for employers who break the law.
3. A generous guest worker program, with a path to residency or citizenship for those immigrants who are working, paying taxes, and staying out of jail.
4. Cooperation from immigrants, i.e., obeying immigration laws, working, paying taxes, and staying out of jail.
Wonder how many people helped his out of shape body get on top of that wall.
Except one problem. Alot of people who would try to scale a wall are in better shape. If you can trek across the desert with not alot of food in you, you would likely have the stamina to scale a wall.

Yes. Have you heard what the plan is for those areas? I haven't seen anything.
