If it were up to conservatives, every single worker would work for pennies, have no healthcare, no retirement, no protections from hazardous conditions, no protections from harassment, no vacation time, no time off for pregnancy, no sick time, work unlimited hours for no overtime pay and be required to kiss the *** of a CEO every time they clock in. It's pretty disgusting these same people are always screaming about "America First" when they couldn't give less of a crap about the actual people.

Any job should be paid according to it's value to the wage payer, not according to the needs of the applicant, and the value of any job is usually determined by the free market. Why shouldn't the lowest rung on the ladder be paid according to that same standard? That might result in the creation of a lot more jobs for people who just need that first "access" (as the Democrats love to say) to the job market.
In my experience, whenever the minimum wage went up, some jobs were just eliminated (usually jobs that had been filled by "temps.") The work was just redistributed to everyone else. Having an individual hired on a temporary basis do do certain things (secretarial help or other) was a luxury. When it became unaffordable, they were let go.
Yes, it should be $0/hr. It will actually benefit the most unskilled workers more than anyone. Fun fact: Minimum wage laws were originally advocated by people who wanted to keep blacks and women from entering the work force.
If you seriously think people in Tennessee get free life saving medicine because they cant afford it, you are seriously deluded. They die! What else are they supposed to do? If you dont have the money for treatment and medicine, you die. Thats the whole point of freedom in the libertarian world.

It is apt to quote FDR, the father of the minimum wage (and the most popular American president in the last 100 years) when people claim that the minimum wage was "not meant to be" a living wage.
