I don't argue that it's been done before. My grandfather moved here from Italy and started a business. He guaranteed jobs to many of his countrymen so that they would be allowed to come. I argue that I don't trust the current administration's motive.

Would melania have been allowed in under these standards? A college dropout whose father was a Communist supporter and who posed naked and dated a bunch of rich older men until she found one who would marry her?

In your opinion, is what?

Immigrants who don't speak English are more likely to vote for DEM.

Progressive!

Merit based, so I assume being hot would count then?

Default Should of been done Long Ago.

Why Not other countries practice this policy and the US can no longer take the Poor from other countries, just because those countries in question can deal with their poor due to internal corruption.

Plus we should of always enforced Immigration Laws on the books. It will be painful, however this whole issue needs to be cleaned up.

Feelings are irrelevant. The needs and the best interests of our country as a whole is what counts.

I'm fine with that immigration does seem to lean too much towards blue collar or working class men looking for work, e.g., economic refugees and so on.

Indeed - that will be the next group to scream.

That said, I agree that we should have some form of merit based system - like most other countries that I would want to move to.

I'd love to live in London - but I can't just move there willy nilly.
